If you didn’t know, I am a fan of celebrity fitness stuff (not really the celeb gossip… just the celeb health bits because they obviously stay healthier than most Americans). So I might occasionally post fitness stuff related to celebs or athletes. Just letting you know in case you are anti-Hollywood or something of that nature.
I was working out the other day, sweating on the elliptical and reading Fitness magazine to pass the time when I read about Daisy Fuentes. Gotta be honest, haven’t heard about or thought about her in a long time, but the three time Fitness cover model stuck in my head after I read the article because she seemed really at ease and happy to be 41.

Lately I have been reading a lot about celebs and regular people who are more comfortable in their bodies at an older age (not that 41 is that old in reality…).
As Daisy said, “That’s one of the best things about being older,” says Fuentes. “I’m comfortable with who I am, and I don’t care about fitting into any specific category or size. I can’t say that was always the case.”
I guess this appeals to me because I want to be like that. Its not that I don’t want to be happy with my body now, but I was so miserable with myself and my body during high school that I find great joy in the fact that how I feel about my body will most likely keep improving (it already has so much!).
Anyway, I thought she had a good view on things and some nice quotes, so here they are:
On working out: “I’m definitely not a cardio-machine girl — I have a treadmill in my garage, but I don’t really use it. I need to be having fun, so I play tennis and go for long hikes in the hills just five minutes from my backyard. With my trainer, we mix it up and do different things, including kickboxing.”
On favorite food: “Thin-crust margarita pizza and champagne. One of the reasons I bought my house was because it has a wood-burning oven in which I can make pizza!”
On body image: “I’m like everyone else. Some days you wake up feeling great about yourself. Some days not so much. My trick is to always do the best I can. It’s fortifying knowing you’ve done everything you could to treat your body right.”
The last one is great. Not every day will be great but you will feel a lot better knowing you tried your hardest to make your body look, feel, and function better. So, listen to Daisy, and always do the best you can.
