I&#039;ve known a few people who were involved in the Weigh Down Workshop, and they didn&#039;t seem too terribly concerned about the &quot;sinful&quot; aspect of being overweight. I managed to avoid talking about the concept in depth (*g*), but it seemed to me they were using the program more from a faith-perspective than a fear-based approach. But I could be wrong.

		<description>I&#039;ll have to read my spam more carefully ;-) But seriously -- good post. I&#039;m saddened by these stories. Very misguided. I&#039;m Eastern Orthodox and the foundation of our spiritual practice is prayer and fasting. But fasting to lose weight is greater sin than not being able to fast or being fat.
