Adriana Lima’s Diet Secret: Portion Control

Victoria’s Secret model Adriana Lima has a supermodel body.  This body is part genetics, part portion control in her dieting.

Portion control is her secret celebrity diet weapon and its something that all of us need to work on.

She says “As the day goes on, I keep going smaller with my portions.” Here’s the typical day in the life of Adriana…

Example of Adriana Lima’s Daily Diet


Breakfast: egg whites, oatmeal and raisins or muesli with plain yogurt and honey, along with a cup of joe and milk

Lunch: A portion of meat (fish, chicken or red meat) with veggies

Snacks: Raw veggies such as cucumbers and carrots. She does indulge her sweet tooth with chocolate too! She also has a daily spoonful of raw honey explaining “it helps your immune system.”

Dinner: Small salad. She says she sleeps better at night when she eats light later in the day.

Adriana Lima follows the “Portion Control Diet” which basically means she is allowed to eat everything she wants, but only in small bites if it is unhealthy or high in fat. That doesn’t mean she eats junk food all day; but she can have a piece of fat food or even a high calorie food as long as it is a small portion size.

Adriana also exercises to stay in shape.  She does Capoeira, a Brazilian martial arts combining dance, music aerobics and choreographed play fighting, and other cardio workouts.

In almost everything I read about Adriana Lima there were two things she always mentioned when talking about dieting or healthy living:

1. Lots of water.

2. Plenty of sleep.

And I can’t believe how much better I feel when I drink enough water! I didnt feel like I was dragging so bad during the day! I’ve been soda free for 2 weeks. Quite the accomplishment for me.

Lol. I would starve too, gotta be honest. But she does have a good idea with te portion control and eating less later in the day when your body doesn’t need as much energy. Those are pretty good ideas.

It’s always a good reminder to ourselves to find out how “naturally skinny” women maintain their weight.

I always that once I get to my goal weight, things will be easy. But speaking to all my friends and family that are a healthy weight, I realize that they have to work at it too.
