Hey kiddos, I’ve been doing “What I’m Reading” posts on Saturdays as a round up of what I read (a ton) each week. I am going to continue to do that because I like sharing and having a record of what I read. I am changing the name to “Merry Go Round” because I’ve used that name for various newsletters, papers, columns, etc., and think it fits very well here. I will show you where I’ve been around on the interwebs. So without further explanation…
Check out the planned (well, seeing if it should be really planned… so go say yes!) conference for healthy living bloggers: FitBloggin’10. It is in the works right now, being planned by Roni, MizFit, Workout Mommy, and Charlie (I think). I am all for this idea and will be there no matter what I have to do (sell a kidney for plane fare? hitch hike to Baltimore?).
Speaking of Roni, I love her weekend quote about the definition of beauty.
Feel like losing your appetite? I was not forwarned before reading 10 Disgusting Fatty Fast Foods. You would have thought the title would warn me but I am a fool. Looking at these foods makes me sick.
As you know I am participating in a local Biggest Loser Challenge. Apparently these kinds of weight loss competitions help fight obesity.
I follow Craig Ballantyne (@craigballantyne) on Twitter and really enjoy what he tweets about. He shares a lot of great information there and on his blog too. I love his post 3 Ways to Achieve EVERYTHING in Life…Including Fat Loss. It pretty much sums up my approach and thinking on things – baby steps taken every day to advance yourself toward success.
Found this post about one of my new favorites on Twitter: Sarah Stanley (@sarahstanley). She runs ultramarathons and as she says, ““I run 50 miles to inspire someone to run or walk 1 mile.” Love it. She is very positive and inspiring.
And finally, go to Does This Blog Make Us Look Fat and enter their Walk It Challenge Giveaway. Comment on the post before the end of May 3 and you can win 3 Free Months of Weight Watchers! Althought Weight Watchers isn’t for me (points? math and I don’t mix), I’ve done it before and even posted about what I learned at weight watchers meetings.
