Biggest Loser Challenge #12

in Weight Loss

Next week will be my last week for the Biggest Loser Challenge I did with my mom and her co-workers.  I totally dropped the ball on this “challenge” and will at most lose 15 pounds (my goal for it now).  But hey, that is something!  To be fair to myself, I did have a setback in the last couple weeks with my back problems.

In fact, I haven’t worked out in about a week now.  Its been rough physically and mentally to deal with an injury and pain, especially since I know it is not pain that will be disappearing any time soon.  I’ve rested and done all the things needed to do to feel better.  My back does feel better after all the rest and needs some work and stretching.  I’m going to do a short workout (maybe 38 minutes which was the total for that workout pledge) and then stretch and whirlpool it up.

The next to last numbers for this:

Weight: 239.4
Previous Weight: 239.6
Weight Loss This Week: -0.2
Weight Loss Total: -12.4

Not the end of the world for a week of non-exericse and laying around.  I’ll take “maintenance.”  Hope everyone else had a better week than me.  I know I’m  losing this particular challenge so I hope the rest are killing it (my mom is).

I’m glad you’re feeling better- resting is really important to keeping yourself on the right track.

@Sagan
Thanks. Resting isn’t my favorite, but its necessary, I know. I’m happy to be feeling better…I will take it slow when I start working out again!

Hey, a slight loss & no gain under these circumstances.. GREAT! Read my post tomorrow & you will see that I did NOT do what you did.. I don’t follow my own advice!

I am sure you are going to a doctor but wanted to mention that back injuries, depending on what they are, often include stretching & strengthening exercises rather than complete rest.. BUT, of course depends on injury & what the doc has to say! I have done as little as barely getting my butt off the ground in a pelvic tilt/bridge for lower back issues… luckily I have only had a couple in all the years I have been working out!

@Jody
Well actually I wasn’t on complete rest, but rest from my normal workouts and activities. Definitely walked and stretched some still. I just was very, very subdued from normal.

Glad you are feeling better! Resting does suck, but at least you’ll be better quicker. Take it easy!

Resting is definitely necessary. better to rest for a lil while than to do some serious long term damage! I think you’ve done great on the challenge. Keep up the good work, missus!

A loss is a loss and you should be proud of yourself for losing 12.4 thus far.. that’s fantastic!! Hope the workout tonight goes well.. make sure you take enough time to heal your back.. back issues are not something to take lightly.

You’re doing great! I’ve lost about that much in the last few months too, but mine has been the same 3 pounds over and over again – not as much of an achievement…

Once your back is better and you’re working out like before the pounds will fly off you!

@Miz
Back is doing much better. More stretching is needed but overall I feel good.

@Kimberly
Ah, i’ve done that before. Did that for the last year, actually. I’m thinking this is the final slide down, no more yoyo action
