Bad and Good News + I Want To Do Things!

BAD NEWS

WARNING: Skip over this section if you don’t want to hear complaining.

I’ve had a headache since I woke up.  Ouch.  I thought it might be from dehydration, but I’m not totally sure.  My neck hurts too, so I’m pretty sure I slept wrong.  I need to figure out a comfortable, safe way to sleep and force my body to make it happen.

Also, I am like an injury waiting to happen.  My hamstrings are tight, which is affected my whole leg, which already has sucktastic knees.  Because of this, my right knee is hurting more, which is driving me crazy.  As much ice and rest and stretching as I give it, my right leg is still a bother.  Perhaps amputation is next?  (Just kidding!)

END COMPLAINING.  Resume reading if you skipped over my whining.

GOOD NEWS

I found a place to live when I go back to Memphis!  Hurray!  This has lifted one stress off of me for those six weeks or so that I will be living in Memphis.  I was worried I wouldn’t have anywhere to go except go back home, but luckily a good friend is going to let me a bum and live with her and her husband.   This is great news really.  I’m doing a happy dance on the inside.

After yesterday’s accomplishment I’m ready to start running more, but I’m going to put at least a day or two inbetween the running, and only go twice a week.  I don’t want to over do it or hurt myself or even just get tired of it.  My goal is to eventually work up to jogging/running 3 miles strait.  That’s it.  Not too much, but an amount that takes a bit of effort.  It’s been a goal for such a long time that I can’t wait to make it happen.

DOING THINGS

Adrienne left a comment on The Fab Fatties blog saying:

Blogs I can’t live without:  http://amerrylife.com – because she is always trying something new and makes me believe i can do it too!

This was such a great compliment.  I really love trying and experiencing new things.  I’ve seen way too many people waste away their life and never try anything outside of their comfort zone, so I made a promise to myself that I wouldn’t be like that.  My promise to myself means that I will always be doing new things and trying different stuff out.  I’m lucky that I have a little mini-platform here to share my experiences and encourage others to do the same things.  It ties in with my ultimate goal: to inspire others by sharing my experiences, not by being an expert.

So I want to ask you,  are there any cool experiences you would like to suggest for me to try?  Or you would like to do but want to know about first?  I’m always down to try something first and let you guys know how it goes.  Plus, I need to make a new list of things to try, perhaps to add on to my life list, so I can satisfy my inner list-maker.  So feel free to give me suggestions, no matter how crazy they sound.

SWING DANCING! Since I’m going for my first lesson tonight (gulp!), I think you should look up where to learn it in Memphis and join me (virtually and only once you move back).

If my Boy wasn’t playing indoor cricket tonight, he’d be joining me too.

Glad you found a place to live in Memphis. I was gonna let you live in my car again, but you were going to have to promise not to mess it up so much this time…

Have a great holiday and travel safe…

P.S. Leave it be, Lois. Just leave it be…

I don’t comment often, but I’ve been following your blog for awhile! Just wanted to say you’re doing an amazing job! I saw your pics the other day :) You’re quite the inspiration, and you’re getting my ass in gear that’s for sure.
I often get headaches from dehydration, also my neck is all out of sorts. and my knees are complete poo, so I understand your complaining!
Again, awesome job! Thanks for sharing all your experiences!

@Gemfit
Swing dancing sounds super cool! I will add it to my list of things to try. Hope your lesson goes well!!

@JackSht
Thanks so much for the offer. Glad I don’t have to take you up on it!

@Kat
Awesome! Thanks for reading! I’m glad to help anyone get their ass in gear… I know other people helped me so I just want to pay that forward.
My headaches are from dehydration normally. It sucks but I deal with it. I’m glad I’m not the only one with a crazy body falling apart!

Have you done rock climbing lately? I saw a website where someone did that and I immediately thought of. . . YOU!! Because I am soooo not going to do it!

Glad about the Memphis landing pad. What will you do after that?

ROCK CLIMBING!!! Oh that sounds so awesome. It’s going on the list immediately. Thanks for that suggestion, I love it!

Well, after Memphis I am going to New Zealand for a month. I will be writing about that in the future, so look out for the awesomeness to come. :)

Sorry about your headache! I’ve had one all day too :-/

Congrats on finding a place to live! That is one stress you don’t need!

Hmmmm… cool experiences to try? I can’t think off anything right now… I’ll let it stew :)

Sorry to hear about the headache, I’ve been having those a lot lately too. It’s annoying.

Take care on your legs so you won’t get injuired and I’m proud you picked up running.

Hmmmm new things to do? Afraid I can’t help you I’m quiet boring in that matter :)

I’m glad the headache left you, and I hope tomorrow sees your neck and hammies loosening up.

I’m so freaking happy about your good news. I know that was a big worry for you. Hopefully this will relieve some of your worries about leaving GMFR too. And working up to 3 miles sounds great :) If you want to work on that while you’re here, I would love to help you.

New things are fun! I’m sorry I can’t suggest any at the moment :)

@Chris
Awesome, going on my list.

@YoBigMike
LOL! Hilarious. I’d love to see that, haha.

@Kepa
You are probably going to have to help me work up to it!!

@Miz
A little bit, especially when I first wake up, but not as bad as it was the other day. A sports massage would be awesome. I’ll look into it.

@Joanna
Thanks.

Oh Jack: How could I pass on that kind of comment, I am sure you would not really ask a beautiful sweet thing like My Mary to even contemplate living in anything less than a Winnebego RV, at least 50 foot long and very mobile. Now that would have been alright, but your car, come on even you are not that trashy.!!
I wish she could come home, but some memories are just to hard to deal with, so I am just happy that she will be close for a while, and we can enjoy some time together before she heads off to New Zealand.
I am sorry that her time is about up in Green Mountain, I know how much it has done for her, and she deserves so much, so very much.
Mary: I did not mean to use your comment space to talk at Jack, but you know how I am, but I will see you soon, the headache is stress, so calm down and enjoy your last few days there. Sorry you did not get to go snowboarding, unless it is this weekend. Love MOM

Thank you for finding my website and commenting! School can be so difficult when the teachers are horrible :( Kind of hard to do assignments if you don’t know about them!

As you can see from my last post, I have no problem with complaining :) lol. That sucks! My lower back was hurting this morning and I think it was from sleeping wrong too.

I absolutely love running, which is something I never in a million years would have thought would happen. Keep it up and you’ll be surprised what your body can do! Bad days are always going to happen though so remember to never give up!
