Ah, another awesome day done. and now it’s time to blog. If I had any spare moments I would check out what’s happening in the blogosphere. But alas, it’s bloggity time then sleep time because tomorrow will probably be just as great as today.
This morning we went and played mini golf! It’s been forever since I did that and once again found out that I am still quite terrible at it. The thing with mini golf is that if I’m bad at a hole I’m REALLY bad. I can make some under par but if I am going over par I’m really going over – it can take me 6 or 7 hits to get the ball in. It’s a shame that I’m so bad at it but I still quite enjoy it. We had a good time:

Then on the way to Rotorua we stopped off at an “adventure park” where we did a maze that led to New Zealand’s longest dry slide. We undersestimated the maze as it turned out to be rather tricky.

When we finally got to the slide part we got to wear some attractive burlap sacks. They were supposed to help with going down the slide, but I still got stuck a few times.

Then later we hit up the Luge in Rotorua for some awesome luging action. I’ve never done that before so riding down a mountain in a little three wheeled cart thing was a first for me.
And to get back to the top of the mountain you have to take a chair lift, which I’m not a huge fan of despite using them all the time for snowboarding. But it provided a nice photo taking opportunity, as well as when we took the initial gondola ride up.

If you were curious about the actual luge part of the day instead of just the rides up the mountain, let me tell you this: I was a pretty mean luging machine.

Have you ever done anything similar? Let me tell you, it’s quite fun. Especially the “advanced” track when you pick up speed. I hit a couple jumps and caught some air on my last run, which was simultaneously awesome and a bit frightening. I’m totally a fan.
Apparently I’ve turned into someone who likes extreme things. I’ve always liked certain stuff, like snowboarding, but now I’ve added bungee jumping and luging to the list. Next up is skydiving. I really, really want to go skidiving eventually. Currently with my clothes and shoes on I don’t fit under the required weight limit, so it’s just another reason to keep losing weight. More motivation, as if I needed any more. I’ll also have to add more things to my life list like wind surfing and hang gliding and stuff like that. More reasons to lose weight and get in shape so those things are easier and more fun.
As for me, I’m out for the count. Today was so much fun, and tomorrow will be too. How about you? (I just wanted to rhyme.)
Have you done anything fun lately?

Ah, minor misfunction (or user error?) with me and wordpress and post scheduling. I scheduled it for later then it showed up before this post then it went away and now it’s posted. I dunno. Please comment though, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
I love picking up air on the luge!
Loved all your pics…and seeing Kepa too! I don’t know about the Luge…I would be scared I’d land head first on the cement! Hahaha!
Have fun!
Ooh I LOVE mini golf (or, put-put, as they call it in MA). I can also be really good or REALLY bad. The last time I played a couple yrs ago we had to let kids play through lol. I really wish there were one in non car distance… hmm… I want to go in a maze! Supercute photos of you two! Hmm, I have never seen those wheeled luge things before. I cant do fally things..like rollercoasters or skiing..so is luging the same? Skydiving is on par for me with bungee cord jumping. As in – the ONLY reason id do it is to save a loved one’s life. And I mean a VERY loved one, not just a casual friend lol. You are quite the extreme girl, mary!
Yes, I do fun things all the time, but they are usually calmer. Funly enough, in the past few days, I have watched some tv, some movies, played mario party, read a book, written, had dinner with friends, went out to some bars, and worked out (kickbox yesterday!). Oh and the weekend before last I went dancing for ten hours :)
