in Link Love & Giveaways

Yay Saturday!

I’m going to the gym today and might just run again!  (I’m going to… I just have to pretend I’m not so I will actually go.)

It’s going to be a good day.

WINNER!

The winner of the pedometer giveaway is Lauren!  I’ve emailed you so send me your address and you will get your new pedometer. :)

Yay Saturday!  Yay Winning!

LINK LOVES

It’s been a while since I’ve done any link love posts, so I figured I would today.

So a couple days ago I wrote about compulsive eating as a reason why I became obese.  Mish read it and then wrote this post.  I think that in itself just made everything I’ve ever blogged worth it.  Making people think and figure things out by sharing my own experiences is the coolest thing ever.  EVER.

Sadly, Cranky Fitness is shutting down.  *tear*  I’ve not been a huge commenter but I’ve been reading the blog since I started blogging.  I admit, I’m a bit of a cranky exerciser, hence my love for Cranky Fitness.  But since they will be no more, here are a few of my favorite posts: Healthy Living On A Budget, Secrets to Success Revealed + more.

Cute Food Saturday is my favorite Satuday post in the blogosphere, from Mara at I Made Dinner.  This week it’s the one year anniversary of Cute Food Saturday and it’s the BEST one.  So cute!

One of my new blogging friends gave me a blogging award!

As a part of this award I am supposed to share about the following 10 Best Things; here we go!

1) Best Meal Ever
– Easy.  I even blogged about it.

2) Best Sleep Ever – Every night in New Zealand.  Haha. Actually every night ever.  I love sleep.

3) Best Cup of Coffee – None.  I don’t drink it.

4) Best Romantic Moment – No comment :) Hehe.

5) Best Childhood Memory Moment -  I have a lot.  Being a kid was fun.  I love every game/adventure/sport we played.

6) Best Moment of Your Life – A lot of good moments, all attached to places.  Austria.  Greece.  Jackson, TN. New Zealand.  Once again, I can’t choose the best.  Well, I could, but what fun is actually answering the question correctly?

7) Best Moment of Revenge – I do a lot of pranks, but never in revenge.  I strike first.  Muah!  Hehe.

8) Best Thing Someone Has Done for You – The best thing was something done anonymously, so I can’t even explain it or give credit.  Pay it forward.

9) Best Thing You Have Ever Done for Someone Else – I don’t know.  Honestly. I do whatever I can for people, but don’t know about the “best” thing.

10) Best Life Changing Moment – Hopefully it is still to come. ;)

And five bloggers who I want to give the award.  Kepa, Mish, Amanda, Jen, and Jen.  And anyone else who wants to do it. ;)

You’ve NEVER had coffee? Oh my dearest Mary, do you realize what you are missing out on!?! Actually, maybe it’s better that way- it can be an expensive habit and it is also annoying to feel like you NEED it to be awake…ahhhh but it’s just SO dang good! :)

8 Mary February 27, 2010 at 2:29 pm

HAHA! I’ve had it – I just don’t like it. I’ve forced myself to drink it on just one occasion when I’d been traveling for like two days with an hour of sleep. It does seem like an expensive habit to get addicted to.

Yay! I never win anything! I’m excited! I’ll be sure to write about it once I’ve tried it out. :) Thanks!

PS – I don’t drink coffee either! And it’s been exactly four weeks since my last soda so I no longer consider myself a caffeine junkie at all! Huzzah!

I want you to know I read your post about compulsive eating and it hit really close to home. I now realize the reason I’m overweight is I have an unhealthy relationship with food.

I’m still fighting a lot of habits, especially grazing. Thanks for shedding light on the subject.

Thank you for letting me know. I’m glad the post helped you. Knowing what you are facing is the first step into defeating it.

I can relate to being a cranky exerciser. I need to get into a better mood for those things so that I’ll actually enjoy them. Thanks for the links, by the way.

I’m a cranky exerciser too!

Hi Mary,

Firstly just a quick thankyou for your honesty in the blog and secondly, just some advice for anyone who is joining a gym and are worried about your first few times. The key is not to go alone. If you turn up with a friend you will give each valuable support and you are also more likely to make friends quicker than if you were on your own.

I’m wishing you all the very best

Spencer :-)
