Today is Friday and I want to share some BIG things coming up with you all. Mostly I’m doing this because sometimes I need a reminder of the good things that are going to happen. Sometimes I feel stuck here (currently I have no transportation) and forget that I’m waiting and working toward big things in the future. Some days it feels like I’m only thinking about food and weight and doing more exercise. I like the routine and I appreciate how it is going to help me get closer to my end goals for weight loss, but sometimes I forget that other things are coming up in the future. So I’m going to write them all here and share with you the greatness to come (mostly so I remember it all myself).
CONTESTS
If you haven’t entered to win a $50 shopping spree from iherb.com, then go leave a comment to enter. You can buy quite a bit of stuff with $50.
Next week I will be giving away another $50 from another cool company. So if you don’t win the first giveaway you will get another chance to win.
I love giving stuff away! I hate that I can’t give everyone something, but at least one lucky person gets it. There will be a couple more awesome giveaways in April because it’s my birthday month! I love giving stuff more than I like getting it.
FITBLOGGIN
I’m pretty dang excited about Fitbloggin. It’s one week from the day I arrive and it all gets started. The only thing I’m not looking forward to is the walk/run thing in the morning. I’m almost 100% sure I am going to just walk the 1 mile. I’ve been doing pretty well with my walk/run stuff but I don’t want to push it. I tried to do that the other day and ended up with shin splints and it’s not worth it to create some deadline I’m not ready for. So if I’m awake I’ll probably be walking if anyone else wants to walk with me? Other than that part I’m super excited about Fitbloggin. How could I not be? It’s a conference of bloggers talking about healthy living blogging – which is my niche and passion and I love it! I’m so excited to see old friends and meet some new ones. I get in at 2:12 pm on Friday, so let me know how to connect and meet up with everyone.

HEALTH BLOGGING EBOOK
I’ve mentioned it a few times and I’m still working on it, but it needs to be mentioned here because it is most definitely a BIG thing. So far it’s 35 pages full of useful content. ;) It turns out after more than two years of weight loss blogging that I’ve got a lot of knowledge and information to share. It’s a bigger project than I thought it would be but I always want to make things the best they can be. I don’t like doing big projects halfway. So while I originally I wanted to release it next week, I’ve changed the release date until after Fitbloggin so I’m not rushing things and making it as good as it possibly can be. Also, if I manage to learn anything new at Fitbloggin I can include it in the ebook! Great plan, yes? The new release date is Tuesday, March 30. Exciting, right? It is exciting!
KEPA AND MARY’S USA ROADTRIP
If you read Kepa’s blog then you know that he just bought his plane ticket to come here, funded by his (and my) awesome readers. Just like I had always wanted to visit New Zealand, Kepa has always wanted to visit America. He is coming July 9th and I’m meeting him in LA to roadtrip across to Jacksonville, Florida then back to Memphis. He wants to see as much of the US as possible and I have never driven across the entire US in one shot. So we are doing a cross country roadtrip with stops in Vegas, Texas, New Orleans, Florida, Atlanta, and probably more. Could that be any cooler? I doubt it. I’m looking forward to this and to being with Kepa again (that more than anything). We are couchsurfing/staying with friends to keep the cost of the trip down, so if any of you are in those cities or along the way and want two awesome guests (or if you just live in the cities and want to meet up for coffee), let us now. I’ll write more about the trip as it gets closer, but I just need to remind myself now that although I’m not doing anything exciting right now I will be doing it in a few months.
MARY MOVES TO NEW ZEALAND
Yep. I’m moving to New Zealand. I made the decision a while ago, possibly when I was in New Zealand sitting on a beach, that I was going to move there, at least for a while. So I’m going to go on a working holiday visa and work some random jobs and live closer to Kepa. Since I’m soon to be 24, I figure I might as well go now and try it out. I’m honestly pretty excited about it all. I know New Zealand isn’t perfect and I’ll have bad times and it will be hard, but I think it will be worth it.
OMG, I’m going to move to New Zealand.
Crazy? Not crazy? I’m not sure. BIG decision? Yes. BIG experience? Yes.
So when is this big awesome crazy thing happening? I don’t know. I’m currently saving money but I’m only working sporadically (hurray non transportation having starting out freelancer!) so I have no idea how to know when I’ll have money for visas and tickets and moving. I think I will put up a donation button for anyone who wants to help get me there sooner, but no pressure. You all already are bringing Kepa to the US and I thank you a million times for that. But if you do want to help, it will be there. You can also buy my ebook when it’s ready (then you actually get something of value!) to help make it a reality.
But yes, the goal is to move to New Zealand by the end of 2010. Talk about this being a crazy awesome year.
WRAPPING IT UP
When I started writing my blog and it turned into a weight loss blog, I never realized that I would be headed in this direction. To be honest, I kind of fell into everything and never ever could have expected all of these things. It’s crazy how life will take you in awesome directions when you let it. Big things are coming up, so make sure you stick around for it all. Subscribe by RSS or subscribe by email and follow along. ;)

Dude, that’s awesome! I had similar anxieties when I moved across the country to Washington D.C. for no other reason than to expand my career. It’s an intense emotional battle but I’m SOOOOO glad I did it! You’re amazing!

Moving is scary, isn’t it? Hehe. I’m excited about it and think it will be a great experience for me. :)
Thanks!
HELL YES!!!!! I wondered why you hadn’t announced earlier that you were moving. WHY NOT? It’s a working holiday visa. My friends did it for 18 months and loved it. 2 of them are getting married to men they met and the third is still with their boyfriend. ha ha ha :) I can come visit you..WOOT!
Michelle @ Eatingjourney´s last blog ..Sugar Wand
I hadn’t announced it earlier because I was scared it wouldn’t happen. Really. But I decided it’s happening no matter what!! So I will do whatever I have to do to get rid of my junk here and come over there. ;)
I can’t wait to meet you in person!
That’s incredible! I’ll definitely buy your eBook when it comes out to help you get over there. :)
And hey, if you all come through Bowling Green, Kentucky, you’ve got a spare bedroom waiting at my house. :)

Thanks Jeremy!
I have been to Bowling Green a few times, I drive through there on my way to see family in Ohio. I bought a Johnny Cash cd there once. ;)
YAY MARY!
I am still working on getting to fitbloggin’…posted a rideshare plea on craigslist, so we’ll see what happens! I SO hope I can come!!!!
Also, I’m moving internationally as well, as you know…argh, what stress!! Moving to England in may, and then moving to Vancouver in October. Thats bouncing back and forth, eh? *sigh* international couples. Oh well, we will both make it work! Because we are awesome and so is having a cute boyfriend with an accent (hah…okay, I am so lame).
Anyways, good luck with everything. i’ll be buying the Ebook!

You have to come Amanda! You have a place to stay and a ticket and everything! Haha. Have you looked at buses and stuff? It might take longer but sometimes it’s cheaper.
LOL. We are so awesome with our cute accent boyfriends. I’m planning on doing something not totally similar but close… moving to New Zealand and then moving again later. But not with the short time schedule you have!
Thanks.
Awesome!! So many things going on for you!! All good and exciting!! :)

ps – I like your spinach and avocado salad video. I want to make it now… just need to go buy avocados!
I love when things start to come together all at once and you realize that it is going to work out. A few things:
1. I’m ready for the e-book. I understand about not doing it halfway…but we’re all ready for it.
2. New Zealand Move — jealous.
3. Fitbloggin — sounds awesome.
4. Morning workouts — not jealous.
Glad things are looking up for you. Keep the posts coming.
seth@1010in2010´s last blog ..Home Workout Photos and a Sad Day
Sorry it’s not ready sooner. Family stuff kept me from working on it more and then with Fitbloggin coming up I just want to do one thing at a time. So post conference it will be time to rock and roll with the ebook.
Morning workouts aren’t my favorite. I like the night ones best, even though they keep me awake later.
Congrats! I am normally just a lurker but I had to comment today. I am so very happy the way everything is falling into place. I am most inspired by you love story I think. I am a hopeless romantic.
What a brave and exciting move. I wish you guys the best. I think you make a wonderful couple!
Cari
Hi Cari! I love when lurkers comment. I totally understand because I lurk on a ton of blogs, but it’s nice when you guys “introduce” yourselves. ;) Thank you for the kind words!
That is so exciting!! I can’t wait to hear all about the move :-) And I love road trips so I’m super jealous about that one too!

Well the move won’t be until August of September, but then you’ll get to hear all about it! The roadtrip is going to be awesome. You could come too! Haha.
So excited for you and your move news! and if you need a couch (or room) for your trip this summer, please swing by DC. Of course you’ll have to put up with my 3 screaming kids, lol!
as for the 5k, I’ll be walking it with the baby. Want to walk with me? :)
Haha. Three screaming kids? Scary.
I might just do that! I think I’m just going to wait til that morning and see what I’m talked into/feel like doing. Haha.
Woo Hoo!!! Awesome news on your moving – I was wondering who was gonna move, Kepa or you! YAY!
Erin´s last blog ..Weekend Warrior Update: #1
Haha. Well, since Kepa is in school he can’t really move. And since I’m not in school or with a full time job I’m the one with the most flexibility. So I’m going to use it and scoot my butt across the world. But eventually Kepa wants to move to the States… that will be fun. ;)
SOOOOOO EXCITED FOR YOU!!!!!!! its so beautiful to see someone enjoy life fully and exploring all this world has to offer. GOOD FOR YOU!!! xoxo

I KNEW it!! I thought “she’s gonna move there!” the first day or two of your NZ adventures. Do it while you’re young mama! I’ll most likely be doing my part by purchasing your ebook. You’ll have a built in fitness buddy too to help cheer you on. I’m so happy for you both. 2010 is your year baby!!
Haha! Way to call it Anele! :)
2010 is my year. It should be everyone’s year. It’s an awesome year.
Wow!!! Congrats on everything, especially the move to New Zealand. That’s so scary & exciting :) I don’t know if I could do it, and that makes you a role model in my book.

It’s major scary/exciting. It’s soo far away! So while it will be cool to live on an island, it will be hard to be away from everything. We will see how it goes. I am excited about it though. Hurray new things! Thank you Rachel. :)
Wow, I’ve only been keeping up with you for a couple weeks now. I had no idea you had such giant plans/goals. For what it’s worth, congratulations.
Yep. Big plans. Gotta dream big, right? Thanks.
I want to say more but my 4 yr old is begging for me! But congrats on all your good news. I don’t know if your trip includes going through Utah, but you can stay here!

I soooo saw the move coming! Congrats! I can’t wait to meet yall in Memphis (I hope!)…that’s so great. That roadtrip across the states sounds so much fun. I love ATL and New Orleans so much!

OMG you’re moving to NZ?! I’m crazy uber happy excited for you! I can introduce you to Body Jam (WAY better than Zumba, mwahahaha, maybe by then I’ll even have a class to teach :-D) and you can be with Kepa and OMFG just too freaking exciting!!!!!! *explodes*

I feel such emotion, as I was reading the comments I was first smiling then crying, I will miss you so much, but as any parent knows young ones grow wings for a reason, so they can fly, in your case SOAR! I know all things will work our for you and I have all the confidence in the world that Kepa will take good care of you.
One thing everyone should know about you after the few years that you have been blogging, is that nothing holds you back, when you make up your mind.
Always,
Love Mom
Aw, thanks Mom. You know I’ll always come back to hang out every once in a while. Thank you so much for all your support! I love you!

Thank you!
The same thing happens to me. I get stuck in the drudgery of day to day and forget about anything fun or good coming up. Yay cant wait to read your ebook! And it looks like your fitblogging thing will be fun too! Yay im glad kepa got his ticket! That road trip sounds awesome! It doesn’t look like you’ll be getting to sf, and my apartment is super tiny so theres not really room for 2 people to stay but on the offchance if you guys happen to be in sf then let me know and we can meet up. Ive been to new orleans about 7 yrs ago it was fun. Very muggy my feet almost didn’t fit into my shoes but fun. (yay beads! Lol). WOW moving to NZ by the end of 2010 that’s so soon! I think it took me almost that long between when I decided to move from new england to san francisco to get everything organized and settled, and that’s an easier move than to another country.. I kinda figured you would end up moving there… what an amazing year you have lined up! :) (PS you can kinda tell I comment on blogs as I read them instead of reading them all the way through then commenting in one chunk).
merri´s last blog ..Zumba
Thanks for the offer. I dunno if we will go to SF or not… we still don’t have it totally planned out. We will le you know. ;)
It seems soon and too far away for the move. I want to be there now but there is a bunch of stuff to take care of first, so I’ve got to figure all that out. I don’t have a strict time set but I’m aiming for around September or so. Which in the grand scheme of things is pretty soon!
Couchsurfing! If you guys get out to DC after July, let me know. I’m not there right now so I can’t host but I’ve hosted a few people and used it loads when I was traveling. I love it. There’s another one called Hospitality Club, check it out.
Let me know how long you’ll be in LA. I’ll probably be around there for my birthday so I’d be down for some grub and drinks!
Congrats on these big life decisions. I’m so glad you’re moving to NZ because I think it’s important for everyone, especially Americans, to get out of their comfort zone and check out the rest of the world. It’s a big, beautiful place.
Have fun at Fitblogging!

When is your birthday? I know we will probably be in the area for a couple days around July 9th.
Thanks. And you don’t have to tell me about traveling. I do a lot of it! The only goal I had in college was to study abroad. That was my favorite semester because of all the traveling I got to do.
OK, you make me feel so boring!!!! :-)
My new name for you.. living life & loving it, but REALLY LIVING IT by Mary!!!!

Oh come on, I’m pretty boring too! I’ll make sure to post some boring stuff (most of my life) coming up. Haha. But seriously, don’t compare yourself to me. I don’t compare myself to anyone because it’s silly. You can always find someone more exciting or more boring than you and your current situation. Doesn’t do much good to compare to others.
:)

Dude- holy crap your life is getting ready to get awesome! lol Those are some BIG announcements- wow- go you! If you would like to make a stop in Pittsburgh I would love to meet for coffee! :)
I thought my life was pretty awesome already, but yeah I guess it’s going to get a little bit more exciting. :) I’m not sure about Pittsburgh but I would love to meet you!

So many awesome things to be excited about! I admit, I am most excited about the last two things, but the other things are cool too! And a fair bit sooner, haha. So hopefully they’ll take your mind off those other two things for now.
I’m pretty excited for you about Fitbloggin’! I wish I was going there. But I’m sure you’ll enjoy it, and your first time in Baltimore! And the ebook will be AWESOME!!!!
But yeah. I can’t wait to be with you again!!! And have excitingfuntimes in the U.S.A. meeting cool peeps and such! And eating yummah food!
Oh shut up. LOL.
The last two things are the BEST two things on the list because they involve you. I have to be honest, the road trip is the best one, because it will be like a long party of meeting people and eating good food. How awesome is that? I seriously can’t wait!!
OMG! I disappear from the net for a few days and then I come back to a lot of awesome things! I can’t express how happy I am for you guys, that Kepa’s finally coming to the US, and that OMG you’re moving to NZ! This is so exciting! I wish you well in all your plans.
Haha. You can’t disappear like that! Things happen!
Thank you so much. :)
OMG this is some big news! And really exciting. I’m applaud your move to NZ; its a big one – go for it. When I moved from the South to NYC, people thought I was crazy. They said no one goes that way, NY all come South. The BEST move I ever made. You can always come home!!!! If your heart is in NZ and with Kepa, how great that you can do this. Scary but great.
I’m going to FitBloggin too. Arrive on Friday much later than you – @ 4:30ish. I hope we’ll meet. Is there anything happening Fri night? I too am doing the walk/run on Sat am. Do it! I’ll be walking right next to you I’m sure. I was on a good training plan and then got sick so it’s set me back. No prob, this will be my first organized walk/run ever and I just want to DO IT. Look forward to meeting you in a week. And your news is really spectacular. I’m excited for you.

Sweet! I’m glad you will be at Fitbloggin and we will meet!! I have no idea what is going on Friday night, but I’m sure we will come up with something. As for the walk/run… I’ll be there, just not sure what I will end up doing.

Just so you know Utah is in between CA and FL if you get up this far and you are more than welcome to stay here! I would love to meet you two :)
Looking forward to your ebook and all the magic this year holds for you :)

Thanks Shannon. Where in Utah do you live? Since I’ve never been I might ask Kepa for a detour just so I can mark it off my list. ;)
I live right in the center of Utah in a small town called Genola. About 1 hour south of Salt Lake City and 1 1/2 from Park City.
After talking to Foodie today I also live 3 hours north of the Biggest Loser ranch here in UT.
PLENTY to see hint hint ;)
Haha, ok, ok, I’ll look at a map and see if it’s a possibility. :)
Big things indeed!!!! Wow. So much happening. I’m very excited for you!
Have fun finishing the e-book! Sounds like an awesome project! Have a wonderful time at Fitbloggin; I really wish I was going… And the road trip sounds awesome. It’s on my “one day I’ll make this happen” list! :) And the move! How exciting!!!

Go for it! Moving to another country is awesome, and you don’t even have to learn another language! I moved to Sweden at the ripe old age of 47 and it has been great, even having to learn Swedish has been great fun. The most interesting part is stepping back from your own culture and seeing it from afar. Best of luck to you!

Yeah, I’m excited! My favorite part is not learning another language! When I lived in Austria learning German was hard! So already knowing the language will be nice. :)
Go you! Such a big move will be much less scary with Kepa and his family to support you. Congratulations! Whenever I think about how you and Kepa are maintaining such a looooong distance relationship, I shut up and stop whining about the fact that my own manfriend of 2+ years lives almost an hour away. I’m very excited for all of this new ventures and adventures in your life. Yay!
Yeah, I’m so grateful to have them there to help me out with the move. It will be a lot easier to have a place to stay for a bit while I find my own place and job and all that. It’s a lot easier than moving completely on my own!
I would love to have Kepa an hour away… you are lucky! That’s really not that bad. So be grateful!
Thanks. I’m excited. :)

I know I’m a week late, but I’m still catching up on the blogs I missed while I was away.
OMG! So much cool stuff coming your way. How exciting! You should be arriving at FitBlogging today, so I hope that’s going well. The decision to move to NZ for a while sounds great – like you said, you’re only young once, so why not. You’re not really tied down by anything at the moment, which makes it the perfect time to travel. Yay!
