A Merry Workout Pledge Round 2!

in Fitness

I know it’s short notice, but I lost track of time and barely realized it was the end of the month until Jess mentioned it in a comment.

The end of the month means it’s time for the second edition of A Merry Workout Pledge! Remember last time? When over 20 of us did 90 minutes of cardio?

That was fun.

And motivating.

And inspiring to me.

It made me feel like I could do anything. I was so pumped about exercise.

So I wanted to make the amerryworkoutpledge a monthly thing. It turned into such a community event last time that I couldn’t help but let that continue. It’s hosted this month on Steve’s blog.

From now on it will be a monthly traveling workout pledge of awesomeness. Because I know at least once a month I could use a really hardcore cardio workout. I usually stick with the 30 minutes but doing more once in a while is a good thing!

So go leave a comment on Steve’s post. HERE. Comment. Now. You have until 4 pm EST to leave a comment.

And if you’d like to join in, leave a comment saying that. I’ll be doing the cardio extravaganza this afternoon but you can do it anytime for the rest of the week! There are no hard and fast rules here guys. Just the commitment to push ourselves and do a little bit more. Because when we try, we can all excel.

I’m on the fence, I did my running this morning and I’m not sure I’d have the time tomorrow morning to do it, but I totally left some time on his blog!

Wait, did you guys do 90 mins of cardio, straight? What consists of “cardio”? does it have to be on a bike or running or a machine? Can it be a sport?

3 Mary April 28, 2010 at 12:26 pm

It can be a sport! People did different things. Some just ran, some did multiple activities, some played a sport. It’s up to you what cardio you choose. :)

Think we will surpass the 90 of last month? was it really a month ago??? I’m looking forward to it and will probably do a long run on Sunday for the challenge.

Yeah, depending on how long it is I might have to wait until the weekend!

Monday I asked my FB friends to comment me to add time to my workout – so far I’m up to 73 minutes. 90 is a big, scary number, but I’ve never done 70+ before either. So does that count that as I’m forcing myself into new territory? :-)

That’s awesome! New territory is good! And if you can’t do the full time at once, split it up. Last time some people did that. Just do the whole time on one day. :)

I tried to leave a comment on Steve’s but it said it was closed, you know me I probable did something wrong. Well anyway I will do it also, as soon as you tell me what it is I have to do.

I loved reading about this last time so I’m so glad to see you’re going ahead with it again this month. It’s really inspiring to see how many people get involved! I think that working out with others is really great because they empower you to keep going and to reach harder for your targets!

I love my evil little awesome comment. Pft, you think I’d forget something crucial like this :) It’s the end of the month celebratory party! I think I’m going to be biking for this challenge. Crossfit training, plus my hips are really sore from my run yesterday.

I love the traveling blog pledge idea :) Rock on woman. Pictures of your sweaty, awesome self when finished please!

I love ya’ll and TOTALLY LOVE the idea of a cardio challenge. Its AWESOME!!! but for me, anything over 60 minutes is overkill and too taxing on the body unless you’re training for an endurance event. Just my 2 cents.

Challenges are my new love ever since your first one. It really motivates me and gives me a short term goal. I already have a Challenge scheduled for Friday. My students have sumeritis right now so I developed a Student Challenge. I have pledged that I will do a minute on the treadmill for every correct answer on a 4 question Geography Test. I’m very excited about this challlenge. The kids are jazzed and have stated that I’m going down. I hope they do really well.

I’ll run your challenge on Saturday.
