I’m now in California, Oakland to be exact, with this awesome lady:
Yep, it’s Susan Ito, aka Foodie McBody!
I arrived yesterday after a very long all-day drive, just in time to attend Susan’s weight watchers meeting (she is a leader). I don’t follow Weight Watchers but I did attend once before and even learned a few things at that Weight Watchers meeting. And of course I support them because so many people find success through their program. For me it’s too much counting and tracking and it all gets mumbled in my head. I don’t need anything else to keep track of. But obviously it’s a good system and Susan is an awesome leader!
I’m pretty excited to be in California, even though I already hate the traffic. I’ve been to LA and San Diego before but the bay area is new to me. It’s quite an impressive place that hopefully won’t make me feel too out of place while I’m here. I’m excited to explore San Fransisco this weekend and for the 5k walk Susan is leading tonight (the list of people attending is sooo long… everyone should come!). It seems like a lot of fun will be had here.
Then in just a week I’ll be in LA meeting Kepa at the airport. I’m not sure if I can express how excited I am about this fact. Long distance relationships can work, but they aren’t really fun. I’m glad to be ending that phase of my life.
And now I’m off to start a fun day in California. I hope everyone has a lovely Friday and a great Fourth of July weekend! :)

I totally missed that you were in the bay area this weekend! Are you planning on meeting up with blog people here? (SF, not Oakland)
I would love to meet up with people! It’s been hard to make plans because it’s a holiday weekend and everyone seems busy. But I will be in SF tomorrow for sure if you want to meet up at some point and Ill probably be back in the city on Monday too. I would love to meet you! :)
ooh you will be in sf tomorrow? where? its gonna be a beautiful day. i was thinking of going to the park (ok there are tons in sf but mine is dolores park which is in the middle between castro, noe valley and mission).

I think you’re going to LOVE the Bay Area. It’s my home, and I seriously could never even think about living anywhere else. It’s such an amazing place. Enjoy!!! :)
P.S. – If you get a chance, be sure to walk along the Golden Gate Bridge. The views are spectacular and the weather this weekend is going to be warm, so you should have good visibility.

I was going to suggest walking the Golden Gate also! The Palace of Fine Arts, which is super close to the bridge also, is one of my very favorite landmarks. Definitely worth stopping by!

Haha yeah, that is a fun moment. It was our first meeting actually, so airport meeting will always hold a big place in my heart.
How exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, the traffic sucks the big one here. Wait till you hit LA! UGH! My teeth appts are there & I HATE driving back & forth from Orange County! What a waste of time on the road! And thr trip to San Diego.. well, at leats you will have Kepa with you to survive that. I know, I am vbeing a downer but I just hate the traffic here!!!!
