Today’s post is about Operation Beautiful. Everyone (well, a lot of us bloggers) is blogging about it lately because the Operation Beautiful book is available now! It’s great that Operation Beautiful is getting so much coverage because it’s an awesome thing. I blogged about Operation Beautiful before and even shared a few post it notes of my own for the cause:
Basically Operation Beautiful is a grassroots movement of women (and men) who leave positive post it note (my favorite thing!) in public places with positive body image messages. It’s a movement to end fat talk, to silence the fat voice inside your head, and help every women (and man) realize their true beauty.
I’ve blogged a lot about body image here because it’s a huge part of my weightloss journey. Sometimes it’s easy to feel pretty, sometimes it’s not. Sometimes it’s easy to know that I’m beautiful, sometimes it’s not. Sometimes it’s just nice to have someone else, even anonymously via a post it, tell me I’m beautiful and worth it. If that’s true for me it’s probably true for you as well. And that’s why I love Operation Beautiful.
Caitlin from Operation Beautiful was on the Today Show this morning! Her clip explains a little bit about Operation Beautiful and explains why it’s helping people transform the way they see themselves (and why that’s so important):

I just posted my first Operation Beautiful post-its yesterday. I felt super-sneaky, and I really wanted to stick around to spy on people as they found them, but I resisted the urge. I love the idea!
