So. This is short and sweet because of course I have a million things to do today. Weight loss this week was low, but I’m still going in the right direction. This week will be good for weight loss, but I’m also traveling to New Zealand next weekend, so I’ll be at the mercy of airplane food. But that’s okay… it’s going to be awesome to be back in New Zealand finally! I’ve missed it!
Thoughts from this week:
Weigh In:
Current Weight: 208.4 lbs
Previous Weight: 209 lbs
Weight loss: – 0.6 lbs
Weight loss Total: – 42.6 lbs
Starting Weight: 251
Last Weeks Goals:
1. Workout 3 times. – Did NOT happen. Lots of walking but formal workouts were not there.
2. Drink enough water each day! Important! – Done! Hurray water! Kepa helped me remember water often.
3. Enjoy the last week with Kepa in the USA! :) – Done! It was very fun and I am sad our USA time is over already.
This Weeks Goals:
1. Workout. Daily. No excuses. Someone in Memphis want to take me to the gym? Hehe. I’m available for workout dates. ;)
2. WATER. I can’t find my water bottle that keeps me on track. So I’m trying to keep up water with water bottles and glasses.
3. Keep stress low. With packing for myself, for my mom (who is moving in Sept), finding wedding venues, and doing last minute leaving-the-country errands, this week has the potential to be pretty stressful. So my plan is to keep stress low with workouts, take time for myself, and just generally stay calm!
How did you do this week?
Any suggestions for keeping stress low when you are super busy and just trying to stay afloat with it all?

Best of luck as you run round getting everything organised, Mary! Your super-busy-ness has got to help you stay fit in itself to some extent. My advice, which has probably little value, since I’m not very good at it myself, is just to focus on one thing at a time and never try to picture everything that needs to be done. That way madness lies…

I’ll try but I’ve never been good at focusing on one thing at once. I’m a bit more scattered in my approach. But I’ll try! :)
.6 lbs is still progress! I hope you stick to your goals for this coming week. :)
I keep stress low by spending time with animals, family (whenever I’m home), and friends. Blogging and just going for a drive really helps too. Oh, and cooking/baking are always life savers! :P
btw, LOVE your name. ;)
Any little progress is progress!
Hehe, thanks Mary! I love your name too! And your blog name. So cute! :)
Good luck to you.:) I too am trying to lose some weight.
Best thing for destressing is just to stop periodically and breathe. Take 5 minutes to consciously take some deep breaths, and then move on.

Ah. Good one. I forget this but it’s true. I’m not very good at the deep breathing so I’ll try to remember this and just BREATHE.
Hey Mary,
good job on the weight loss.
HAVE FUN IN NEW ZEALAND!!!
I am sooo jealous. It looks amazing.
(pack a sandwich, airplane food is just hideous)
Hehe. Well, last time I flew the airline food was good (V Australia). but this time it’s a whole new airline so it probably will be quite standard and not as awesome. We will see. I’ll def take photos of everything for the food blog. ;)
Hey there
I’m a new reader (I found you through my friend Karen’s WL blog!) and I just wanted to say how much I love your blog(s) !! :)
Congratulations on the engagement – I’m currently trying to lose weight for my wedding next June and it’s an interesting journey!

Thanks for stopping by Aly! :) I’m glad you love my blogs. I’ll definitely check yours out… I love all things wedding related right now. ;)
Yay! I always love finding new blogs to keep up with – wedding AND weight loss? You’re automatically a favourite. Plus, you’ve done so well already. (I may or may not have just briefly skimmed the archives to catch up!)
And for what it’s worth.. my way of de-stressing is just to put aside half an hour to read. That’s all it takes for me to zone out & have some me time. Especially good when you’re super busy and just need a few moments for yourself. Enjoy the trip to NZ — we love it there, thinking of heading back to the South Island for our Honeymoon!

wow, i can’t imagine how busy your schedule is right now! when we moved to Australia it was nuts, let alone plan a wedding :) my advice?? make time to exercise. (i know, you’re like – how? but it’s so worth it.) and try not to eat too much sugar. at least i know for me, when i eat junk my energy levels plummet. good luck to you!

I’m trying. Exercise is my friend! :)
You really have a lot going on – exciting things, but it is still stressful. I just try to break up my goals and things to do into small bits. Thinking about it all at once stresses me out.

Dear Ridiculously Excited Mary: how many pairs of glasses do you own? I always notice your cool glasses
Yum Yucky´s last [type] ..Mmmm… BRAINS!
Haha. I have three pairs. Black, pink, and blue. I actually prefer wearing contacts, but my prescription ran out and I can’t afford to get them yet. Maybe once I’m in NZ. But yes, I like glasses too and have a few pair I got when my old eye place went out of business. ;)
you know, for me in a way I do BETTER when life is crazyhecticstressful and tend to slack when my life is simplified and easy.
its so trite but for me I guess it IS the “busy people get stuff done”
perhaps try viewing one day thru that lens and see how it works?

I will try! I usually do get a lot more done when I’m busy, but this busy is a bit ridiculous, you know? Still, it’s all good things wedding/NZ/awesome related. ;)
Mary! I think you are doing better than staying afloat, you’re moving full speed ahead…
My advice when things get crazy is simple: 1) Don’t Panic! 2) protect the time to get the things done that are important to you – especially the moving part. I know for me I need the exercise to make my brain work better (not to mention the body) so when things get super busy I make sure to guard my gym time in the schedule.
There’s lots exciting happening for you right now and you’re still moving in all the right directions – I’m cheering you on over here! ;)

PS: Mary, I forgot to say that boxing or kickboxing or shadow boxing may help with stress…. I use my workouts but this may help you in the interim.
On the wedding venues, I have gone to a couple at gold courses and they were beautiful!!!!!!!!!
Yes, poem will come later! :-) I have to get some home stuff done!

Really good video to watch. I think there’s one solution for all the health problems, balanced diet and brisk walk. Both i implement in my lifestyle.
