Meet Señor Kitty Snugglepuss

by Mary on February 8, 2011

in Kitty,Merriness

If you are a fan of mine on Facebook you’ve already seen the cuteness I’m about to share.

Yes, that is a perfectly good reason to go be a fan on Facebook. I’m going to start doing more over there I think so it would be nice to have all of you around.

Today I want to introduce you to our new kitty and my newest source of happiness: Señor Kitty Snugglepuss.

Señor Kitty Snugglepuss

Isn’t he adorable?

kitty

I think even if you don’t like cats you have to like him. He is just so fluffy and adorable.

And yes his name is Señor Kitty Snugglepuss. That is his full name but for short he is Señor Kitty or Kitty or Snugglepuss. In my family we have always had a history of cat names that always involved the word cat or kitty: Kitty Vuvu, Catty Meow Meow, Catty. I had to continue that long history of names with Señor Kitty. We chose that name and then learned his previous family had called him Snugglepuss so it just felt right to combine them. Señor Kitty Snugglepuss it is!

We got him a day early from wonderful owners who we are going to send email updates (they asked!). They took really good care of him and now it’s our turn to love him and care for him. I’m was so happy when we picked him up and he became the newest addition to our family.

When we got him home right away he decided the first place to investigate was underneath the couch.

Señor Kitty Snugglepuss

Kepa and I played with him and his mouse for a while.

Señor Kitty Snugglepuss

He explored the house and once he got comfortable he ran around like crazy.

Señor Kitty SnugglepussSeñor Kitty Snugglepuss

Señor Kitty Snugglepuss is such a good kitten. He eats and drinks his food and is great with the litter box. He is the perfect cat already.

Señor Kitty Snugglepuss

He even wants to be my blogging personal assistant! I’ve always wanted one of those!

Señor Kitty Snugglepuss

He really does like to sit on my keyboard. Once I pull him off he curls up next to me while I am using my computer. In fact that’s what he is doing right now. It’s terribly cute.

I’m super excited to have a pet again. I’ve had a pet in one form or another since I was a baby, so it felt strange for me to not have access to any animals since I moved to New Zealand. Señor Kitty joining our family makes things feel right and makes this much more like home for me. It might sound strange but it’s true. Pets are really important to me and they improve your life so much. I’m really happy to have a kitty!

I’m not a big cat fan, but you’re right, there’s no reason not to love looking at this cute kitty! He’s adorable and in the first 2 pics looks like he even has been made up with blush for the photo! Enjoy your new addition, there’s nothing quite like having a pet around. I have 2 weiner dogs and they are the light of my life.

6 Mary February 8, 2011 at 2:53 pm

I didn’t even notice that but you are right!! He does look like he is wearing a little blush. I guess he has some red in his coloring. :)

7 Aly @ Breathe Gently February 8, 2011 at 2:40 pm

So cute! Honestly, bringing Oscar-cat home with us after the first few months spend abroad in London was the best thing we ever did. There’s no way I could’ve lasted three years in a country by myself without him. Love that cat!

All I read was “blah blah blah” because I was so distracted by his utter and complete perfection and cuteness. In fact, I think I might have blacked out for a moment.

Snuggle that kitty for me Mary – animals bring SO MUCH joy to our lives!

12 Mary February 8, 2011 at 4:38 pm

I will definitely give him some snuggles for you. :)

13 Kendra February 8, 2011 at 4:07 pm

What a little cutie! I’m moving soon and trying to decide whether or not I want to get a cat. I mean, I want one but do I want to take care of one and have cat hair all over all my stuff.

The answer of course is YES!

Hehe. The answer is always yes to a kitty! The hair might be an issue that I don’t enjoy but I’ll deal with it.

15 KCLAnderson (Karen) February 8, 2011 at 4:45 pm

He is freaking adorable!! I <3 him! I especially love the sixth photo (sitting among the wires) and the one of him sitting on your laptop! I'm going to call him Snug for short. :-) And it IS funny how cat names end up morphing over time. I've had cats ALL my life…they bring such joy!

Hehe, I like “Snug” … cute! I think he is going to have a million names and nicknames.

17 Angie (Losing It and Loving It) February 8, 2011 at 4:57 pm

Oh my goodness, sooo cute! I totally agree about them improving life! I have felt a bit empty without my cat and Basset Hound. Pebbles (cat) had to be put down in 2010 and our Basset Hound in 09. We still have a Blue & Gold Macaw and turtle but I’m so ready for more. Most likely it will be two Basset Hound puppies but hubby thinks a cat first. I just know that we have a lot more love to give so I’m ready.

I LOVE Basset Hounds! I vote for the puppies! :)

19 merri February 8, 2011 at 4:59 pm

That’s really nice that you’ll be sending email updates to the mom and her family. My cat had 4 litters of kittens, and I had a dog that had one litter of puppies, and I always felt really sad about letting them go. One of the puppies family sent us a picture later of him playing in the snow and said he was learning to herd sheep (this was WAY before email) and it really meant a lot to us, especially since we were just little kids. Ooh that photo of him eating is soo cuuute!! Aww and he works on the computer with you! Aww. Pets are definitely important, its good to have them there and they help if youre sad or sick too. Your photos almost make me want to get a kitten…but I think I should still hold out for when I can get a puppy one day. So yay congrats on your new addition to the family!!

ohhh, he’s a doll. They are so adorably gorgeous when they’re kittens. Has Señor Kitty tried the climb up the trouser leg trick yet? My snugglepuss is 15 years old, and even now she still has her cute moments. :)

I had a cat for about 2 years, we named him bogart, and then I apparently became allergic, now If I’m in the room with a cat for more than an hour I can’t see or breathe. He’s happily living with a friedns of ours and I get pictures via email every so often. Enjoy your fuzzy little man.

He is adorable, Mary. I’m concerned though: aren’t they other kittays gonna give him a hard time with a name like, “snugglepuss.”
Alexia @ Dimple Snatcher´s last [type] ..its easy

33 Mary February 9, 2011 at 4:22 pm

Perhaps. But he can just go by Señor Kitty. It’s much more dignified.

34 Alexia @ Dimple Snatcher February 10, 2011 at 10:48 pm

HA! They’ll think he thinks that he’s posh! HA!

I miss kitties. I was definitely a cat person growing up and we always had one around. Then I married my husband, a dog person. He hated cats, so my Lady Cat went to live with my mom. Though I still payed for anything she needed.
Me and my husband have three dogs, all dogs he wanted.
I sure wish he had been a cat person. Dogs are a lot more work, especially when you have three, one large dog, one medium dog and one small dog.

36 Sagan February 9, 2011 at 7:07 pm

Such a kitty! And that is the perfect name.

My old cat used to love climbing on my keyboard. And then she would start trying to eat my hair. It was rather distracting.
