Thank you all so much! It’s awesome to be able to celebrate tiny successes with you. Getting approved for a new NZ visa was definitely a success for me!
YAY New Zealand
I’m looking forward to so many things about New Zealand:
- being with Kepa and being a newlywed
- having my bike back and using it
- going on roadtrips and camping trips
- hitting up the beach
- a NZ wedding celebration party
- moving into our own place
- seeing and playing with my love Señor Kitty
- hitting up the gym
- figuring out a new routine and life
- celebrating the holidays (remember last Thanksgiving in NZ?)
Only a little more than a month until I get all of that! :)
Busy, Busy, Busy
Today’s been busy. I’ve been trying to get stuff done at work and get ahead because I know next month I’ll be missing at least a week or two.
Additionally I wrote out a to do list (because I love lists). It made me feel slightly overwhelmed because I have a TON to do that should get done today. I’ve got a bunch of errands to run and wedding tasks to accomplish in addition to some life tasks.
I seem to thrive with being busy lately. The busier I am the better I am at eating healthy and scheduling workout times. I swear, now that I’m busier I’m better at doing all the healthy stuff than I was when I was unemployed. When I have all the time in the world I will always “do it later.” I will remember this for the future… busy = good!
I suppose the less time I have means the more precious it is. That makes me use it more wisely to get things done. Thriving on being busy. Is anyone else like this?
It’s a good thing I like being busy because I can see now that the next 2 months of my life are going to be crazy busy between work, working out, seeing friends, the wedding, tying up my life in the US, moving back to NZ, finding an apartment… yeah. Life is going to be crazy for a while.

I totally thrive on being busy (surprise, surprise). When I have “too much” time I end up wasting it in ridiculous ways. It’s a fine balance between being “just busy enough” and overwhelmed, though… So excited for all that awaits you!!!!!!
I don’t really thrive on being busy. It all seems to consume me, having to do more than one thing at a time. I don’t know where to start.
Yay New Zealand! :)
I know you don’t. But hopefully we will balance each other out and find a nice middle ground. :)

“Life is going to be crazy for a while”…yeah…crazy good!! :-)
EXACTLY! Crazy doesn’t always mean bad. ;)
i like to be medium busy. if im too busy i get burnt out. i need relax do nothing days to balance them. but if i have too much nothing to do-ness, i get super bored and blah too. its a seesaw. :)
When I have lots of empty time on my hands I find I am
much more inclined to be lazy, aimless, eat more and and just in general
be less disciplined, which makes me feel “down”.
But when I am super busy I get more accomplished and
feel much better about myself and try harder in general.
I am totally like this. Being busy makes me thoughtful/conscious of how I spend my time and I don’t generally end up wasting any of it when I’m busy. The trick for me is still leaving time for naps, spontaneous fun with my husband and other things that keep me feeling rested and energized for my otherwise busy life. Exercise and healthy eating is like this for me too–it’s aaaaall about momentum!
it is so trite but always true for me “BUSY PEOPLE GET THINGS DONE”
I also absolutely thrive on being busy. I love to have things to do and get so excited about having tasks to organize and put into motion. I’m so excited for you especially because I relate so closely with you on so many of these things! :)
Love NZ Grew Up there. So many beautiful places to go to and some many amazing places to do things in. Live in Aussie now and must admit do find that NZ weather a little chilly at times. Enjoy the Pristine Air, the Gorgeous People, the Beautiful Mountain Views and the Fabulous Waterways of all shapes and sizes. You’ll just love it there. I think they have the most amazing array of outdoor adventure activities and events ever. No excuse not to keep running. xxL
Thriving on being busy – great! However, the best point of this particular blog is that you are thriving on being busy doing what you LOVE and are PASSIONATE about . . . this makes the perfect difference. Just busywork isn’t enough and so many of us fail to realize this until we have become fatigued through an entire life of spinning around – good for you, once again!
