Senor Kitty didn’t like JuJu at first but I LOVE HER.
Actually Senor Kitty freaked out a bit and is still trying to adjust to this furry intruder. Oh well, first meetings can’t always be the best.
Yep, we got a puppy. I spent a few weeks looking through classified ads and online sites trying to find a puppy or a dog that needed a home. During the process I talked with a lot of interesting people including a group that rescues chained dogs (dogs forced to live chained to something their whole lives) and will hopefully be helping them out in the future.
In the end we got JuJu from a friend who had several puppies and was giving them away to good homes. I got attached to one of JuJu’s brothers when another friend brought his puppy over and I just had to go see the other puppies. They were a bundle of energy all together!
I’m happy we have JuJu because Kepa and I both fell in love with her today. (So did everyone at the pet store!)
She’s a mix of breeds and totally adorable. She will end up being a pretty large dog though we chose a female specifically so it would be smaller than if we had a male. I’m actually excited about that because I’ve always loved big dogs and I am happy to have a dog that will want to go on lots of walks & runs with us. Plus I won’t be as scared walking at night with a a bigger looking dog with me!
JuJu’s name is actually a bit of a joke. It’s the word I use with Kepa for Jiu-Jitsu which is a type of martial art/self defense system that focuses on grappling and ground fighting. It’s something Kepa does and loves and is constantly trying to teach me. JuJu is cute, short, and quirky too so it’s the perfect name.
If you can’t tell, I’M FREAKING EXCITED. I’m a huge dog lover and am so excited to have this sweet little thing around now. You will probably see a ton of photos of her in the future, so be prepared. Our little family just got a tiny bit bigger and I love it! :)

She looks very similar to my staffy – and around the same size when we got her (she was 8 weeks). I miss our puppy being so cute and easy to pick up, but I dont miss the toilet training and constantly nipping she did!
