Ooo, stormy weather in Auckland today! There was even a waterspout (missed that since I’m not near water). I have to say I was ridiculously excited to hear thunder and see lightning. I LOVE STORMS. Despite my hatred for tornadoes, I still love a good storm. In Tennessee I would always sit on the porch for as long as I could until the weather was too bad or I had something to do. Today reminds me a lot of home.
I love the little glimpses of life that remind me of home but generally living here is nothing like living in Tennessee. This isn’t a bad thing.
Prime example of this: I can go to the beach whenever I want.

I love being 30 minutes from the nearest beach. LOVE IT. When I need a pick me up I can just drive over to the beach and walk on the sand and listen to the ocean. I love the ocean smell and just the ocean in general so I’m happy that I now live a lot closer now. Major perk of life on the island that I took advantage of last night around sunset.
Side note: I’m rather bad at iphone self portraits:

Another side note: I’m recently obsessed with green tea.

At the rate I’m drinking it I need to find more coffee mugs since I only have one currently. I don’t know why but the other day I really wanted green tea and I’ve been drinking several cups a day since then. I love green tea right now so we will see how long it lasts.
I’m currently sipping away at my tea between workout sessions. I’m going twice a day currently because I like doing my strength training earlier in the day when the gym isn’t busy. Then when Kepa comes home from work and heads to the gym I join him but hit the cardio section. It works pretty well because I feel like I’m not spending hours at the gym at once (boring) but I’m still getting everything I need to do done for the day.
This post started out just because I wanted to talk about storms but it ended up being about the things I’m loving right now. I feel so happy and refreshed after writing this post so I might have to do something similar more often. Focusing on the positive and what I am loving in the moment feels good! Hope you enjoy it a little bit too!
What are you loving right now?

Hi, you have a very inspiring and beautiful blog. I love seeing your success and you motivated me to join the gym last year, your blog is how I found Blog to Lose, I’ve been posting there since.
I wish you lots of happiness in achieving your future goals.
I love green tea too.
Hi Sharry! Thanks for the kind words & congrats on joining the gym! I’m glad you found Blog To Lose – it’s a great little community. Keep it up! :)

We had storms Wednesday, the thunder and heavy rain, reminded me of home too! My dad and I would set on the front porch, of the old farm house we lived in back in 1960, and we would watch as the storm came across the neighbors field of wheat. He always would say “girl” nothing to be afraid of it is the glory of God to wash away all the filth in the air, and sure enough what is the first thing you notice after a storm… Yeah! the clean smell of the air. My dad was so great and we had such a good time together, you were way to small to remember him, but he loved you too.
I love reading your blog because it keeps me close to you, I do not always comment sweet, but I always read. Now that I have the picture of all my children on the desktop background of my computer I see your smiling face every day.. Love that too. Mom
I know… half the time I blog just so you have something to read. ;) Love you!
What a gorgeous pic!! Good on ya for the gym schedule! That sounds like its working well.
What I’m loving right now are Amy Dixon workouts. I kinda loathe her during but afterward I’m grateful for the 1000 calorie burn which regular cardio kickboxing was starting to fail to give me anymore.

It took me a long time to jump on the green tea bandwagon. My husband has been drinking it for ages and his smelled like tobacco! But I now have found two that I enjoy.
1) I am loving your blog today. It is happy. I love when you are happy.
2) I am loving the Constitution [nerd alert!] and the separation of powers, because I am learning about that right now.
3) I am loving how huge Juju has gotten and the photo updates. Keep them coming.
4) I am loving hot, bitter coffee and three-day weekends. and you.

You totally made me smile. Love you!
I am loving ruby red grapefruit. Jason and I split one every morning and one half is just not enough. I want ALL OF THE HALVES EVER!
I am loving apple cider vinegar as facial toner. My acne has been horrible for years and I’ve tried everything, and apple cider vinegar has done great things for my complexion.
I am loving my little blogging community. I don’t have many readers and I have even fewer commenters, but everyone is so supportive and great that I keep chugging along. Support is important for weight loss, but online support is my favorite. The internet connects us all and I adore it.

I’ve been using apple cider vinegar as a toner too and it’s been great! It really is helpful for bad skin.
The internet is awesome. It’s so great how we can all find support online even if we can’t in our daily lives. Thanks for being part of my supportive community! :)
Hey! You’re welcome! Go, Mary, go!
Huh….apple cider vinegar as a toner? I’ve never heard of it. Does it work well?? (At 32, after a good 15 years of acne, I’m so done with pimples! I’ll try anything!)
Yeah it actually does work well! I read about it when I was looking for all natural types of face care stuff. You just dilute it with water (I use 1:4 ratio) and use it as a toner. You can read up about it online… check makeupalley.com or similar sites for lots of people who have used it and have reviews/suggestions. It’s cheap to buy so it’s worth a shot, ya know?
I love warm storms. In new England, well as you probably know, we had those thunder and lightning storms almost every night in the summer when it got so muggy and I’d love walking outside with my cats in the middle of the night when my family was asleep and feeling the wind and watching the show in the sky (probably one of the most exciting things going on in NH lol). That beach photo is beautiful! Well, I’m loving a lot of random things right now but the thing I’m most loving is my night club. Last weekend, even when we were in semi-crisis mode I was thinking how very much I LOVE doing that job. So I’m pretty focused on the next one in 3 wks, and the prep work leading to it and ya, that’s my biggest love at the moment!

I love storms, too! We rarely get thunderstorms in northern California but when we do I am in front of the window with the lights off, enjoying the thunder rattling my ribcage and the lightning flashing across the sky!
Ooh green tea is so good for you! I really want to get some. I’m addicted to peppermint tea at the moment.
To take great selt portraits with your phone, stand in front of a mirror. Then, you can see what you are taking a photo of in the mirror! :)
That’s a beautiful photo of the beach. I love living by the water too. I guess anywhere in NZ you’re near waters and mountains. I do enjoy that. I can hear the ocean at night by my house if my windows are open but during the day it’s too noisy.
Love it all & that first pic is amazing!!!! How is the injury? Better???
Hi, I am so impressed about information on your blog. Nice job.
