Despite yesterday’s post, things are going pretty well over here. I’m eating well, getting activity in, and just … moving on. ;)
It’s also Friday so I’m super excited about this weekend!
I’m a UFC fan (my husband and brothers are all bigger fans), so I’m excited about the UFC event tomorrow.
It’s the first time women are the main event in the UFC and the two chicks fighting are extremely badass. I love some kickboxing and secretly wish I was a fighter myself, so these Ronda Rousey and Liz Carmouche are incredibly inspiring to me.
I love some kickboxing and secretly wish I was a fighter myself, so these two women are incredibly inspiring to me. The video above is a bit long but it’s worth watching. Ronda Rousey and Liz Carmouche both have incredible stories and are amazing at what they do. They both work so hard – it’s hard not to be inspired by them both.
My favorite quote from the video: “I believe I’m capable of doing anything.”
We all are.
The fight is tomorrow. Can’t wait to watch it. Can’t wait to get a good workout in myself as well.
Enjoy your weekend! Find your own inspiration where you can and run with it.

So much about what fighters stand for is inspiring, and then to top it off it’s a 2 time Olympian (first U.S. person to win a medal at the Olympics for Judo) vs a former Marine and the first openly gay fighter in the UFC.
I’m surprised more people haven’t posted about this in the health/weight-loss/fitness blogosphere. Hell, they both inspire me.
These women are definitely inspiring! I wonder what makes a woman decide “I want to be a professional fighter?” It’s definitely not something I would consider as a profession because pain is just not something I can tolerate day in and day out. The dedication to their sport and the stamina that it takes to get where they are now makes me look at my life and say “I could be doing more than sitting on my couch and wishing I were thin.”
If you want change in your life you have to make the effort to change, nothing in life is handed out on a silver platter!
Yeah I have no idea. It’s definitely an unique person who decides they want to fight professionally. Still, I find their drive rather inspiring.
I have no interest in being a fighter, but these girls are badass.
Fun story- I ran an event in Montreal where at the end of the night, the last few guests went a little bananas because GSP showed up and partied with us. I had to ask who he was and what he did lol.
Haha that’s awesome! I always wondered if everyone in Canada knew who GSP was. He is one of my favs. :)
I might be the only Canadian in the dark, because everyone else thought I lived under a very small rock.

I think it is great to see more women in fighting sports like UFC and boxing that used have have been dominated by males. Women have just as much right to do them as men does. I hope they will inspire a lot of young girls.
Kickboxing is very good physical activity for a healthy and fit body. It requires lots of muscle work and inner strength. Many of the celebrities try kickboxing to be fit and healthy.
