Motivation is a tricky concept. It’s there one minute and gone the next. Sometimes you need a daily motivation boost to keep you chugging along on the path to achieve your goals.
Like Zig Ziglar said, “People often say motivation doesn’t last. Neither does bathing—that’s why we recommend it daily.”
Where To Find Your Daily Motivation Boost
If you’ve got a huge goal that will take long enough for motivation to fade without daily motivation boosts, you have to take matters into your own hands. Here are a few ways I like to find motivation for big goals like losing a chunk of weight, paying off debt, or achieving any big change.
I love reading biographies and personal stories of people achieving success. It’s why I started reading blogs about things I wanted to do and why I share weight loss success stories. It is incredibly motivating to watch someone else go through the same thing. It can feel lonely at times as you work towards a big goal so having the “company” along the way can help motivate you. Personal stories of success also help remind you that if that person can achieve it, so can you.
You can read personal weight loss stories on blogs or in weight loss and fitness memoirs. Here are a few recommendations of motivational books I’ve read that share a story of success:
Updating Your Progress
With most big goals you make progress so slowly you don’t even notice it. Keeping measurements of your progress on a daily, weekly, or monthly schedule will help you notice the successes you’ve achieved. It’s motivating to see that your small actions add up to bigger progress than you can see. Update your tracking numbers to see what you’ve achieved and get a quick motivation boost. In my own journey, losing weight took me a long time but I can see over the years where it added up.
Get Yourself Organized
Being disorganized causes chaos in your life and stops you from easily achieving things. Give yourself an hour or two to get organized. Clean your house, make your meal plan, readjust your calorie budget, and just get ready to tackle your goals. Putting yourself in an organized and ready-to-attack position can be motivating.
Write Out Your Reasons
When you start to falter on achieving a goal halfway through, you might want to take a second to write out your reasons for tackling the goal. Grab a sheet of paper and list all the reasons why you want to keep going and why it will be amazing to achieve your goal. The list will give you a renewed since of motivation and you might even have a few new reasons added to the list since you started.
Read Inspiring Books
Reading a good book can be incredibly motivational. If you need a motivation boost then pick up a good book with a motivational angle. By the time you are finished you will want to workout harder than ever or climb mountains and dominate the world.

Read Inspiring Quotes
Just like reading inspiring personal stories, inspiring fitness motivation quotes can be a great source of daily motivation. You can find thousands online and even download them as your wallpaper for your computer or phone. It’s a great motivational reminder that will spark you into action.
- “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” Lao-tzu
- “Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.” Mahatma Ghandi
- “Success is the ability to go from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm.” Sir Winston Churchill
Pin Your Motivation
Pinterest can be highly motivational. It’s a great place to pin your fitness motivation as well as healthy living ideas. You can set yourself a five or ten minute time limit to spend on Pinterest browsing for motivational pictures and quotes. Once you’ve pinned a few to your board, use the motivation to go take action! Here are a few of my favorites lately:

Share Your Motivation
Hopefully these sources of motivation will help you find your own daily motivation boost so you can go out achieve your goals, whatever they may be! When you find it, share it. The most motivating thing in the world is to be around other people who are excited and motivated about achieving a goal. If you feel that motivation inside you then share it with those who are around you. I promise, giving will only make you feel better and more motivated.
Good luck friends!
