Today was the first day of my AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge!
Due to the snow and other conditions I ended up starting the 24 day challenge later than I expected. I didn’t get to deliver the 24 Day Challenge orders to everyone until this weekend, so it’s Sunday and I’m finally getting started!
Since I previously did the AdvoCare 10 Day Cleanse I knew a bit about this first 10 days and how to make it work. This was great for the people going through the challenge with me since I could give them tips about how makec the fiber drink go down easier. My first day ever on Advoare was not pleasant because of that little drink! This time around was much better.
24 Day Challenge Day 1 Starting Stats
Weight: Starting this challenge, I’m weighing in at 207.5. It’s higher than I had thought. I haven’t weighed since January and unfortunately that number is back over 200 lbs. While I haven’t regained that much weight, it makes me wonder if I’ll ever get that far under 200 and if I’ll always struggle with weight. Le sigh.
Clothes: I’m wearing a size 14 in most clothes with a few size 16s as well depending on brand. I’ve been having more “fat days” where clothes feel tight and I don’t like how I look in anything. It’s not every day, but it’s not a fun feeling when it happens.
Feeling: Lately I’ve been super anxious and also feeling BLAH. I’m tired all the time and have trouble waking up in the mornings. Winters are hard and I tend to have low energy so despite doing a lot to combat this, I’ve still been struggling the last couple of weeks with so many snow days.
24 Day Challenge Day 1 Food
Now that I’ve ended my first day on the challenge, it’s time to recap! I’m not sure yet if I’ll do this daily or every couple of days or what. I do want to do it for my own benefit and for others who might be curious about the challenge.
Wakeup: Spark is how you start your day on the challenge and I love it! I’ve always loved Spark and it gives me a lot of energy in the morning. I woke up late because I forgot about daylight savings time, but Spark got me going.
Breakfast: 30 minutes after Spark comes the AdvoCare Fiber Drink that is part of the cleanse. As mentioned, this drink went down so much easier today than the first time I had it.
For breakfast I had two eggs scrambled with black pepper and a green smoothie with mixed berries I made yesterday. I took this picture of the ingredients, which I found very pretty!
Snack: In between breakfast and lunch I had half a banana with 1 tbsp of peanut butter. It was the right thing to eat before grocery shopping so I didn’t want to buy everything.
Lunch: For lunch I had a plain turkey burger cooked on the George Forman grill with a mini sweet pepper and some onion slices. I cut up all the ingredients and put it on romaine lettuce leaves as a lettuce wrap. This ended up being really delicious without any condiments!
Dinner: For dinner I made a modified green chicken curry. It was a lighter version with lots less sodium and plenty of veggies including green onion, red pepper, bamboo shoots, and carrots. Topped with some crushed cashews. So good.
Shoutout to all the Advocare people and websites that showed me I could still eat delicious things like curry while on the challenge with some changes. I’m not a person that can eat plain chicken and green beans each night so it’s nice to know I’ve got delicious AdvoCare recipe options!
24 Day Challenge Day 1 Thoughts
I didn’t manage an official workout today but did get lots of walking in today. I wore my Polar Loop for part of the day to track steps and had over 7k steps. Tomorrow I’ll definitely be getting a workout in since I joined a second gym.
All in all it was a great day of food and I’m feeling great! It’s funny to think of how just one day can make you feel so much better. I woke up tired with a headache and tonight I’m going bed feeling excellent. I’m so excited to see how great I’m going to feel at the end of this challenge.
