I’m currently doing the AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge and blogging my experience with it both for accountability for myself and to show other people what it’s all about.
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 2 Food
Wakeup: Spark! Best part of the day. Seriously. I woke up a bit later than expected and struggled to get going this morning. Maybe it’s the time change the but last few days have been hard in the morning.
Breakfast: AdvoCare Fiber Drink mixed with water. Doggy care duties distracted me this morning and almost made the fiber drink experience unfortunate. But I powered through!
An apple plus a serving of cashews was my breakfast eaten on the go along with more water.
Lunch: For lunch I had a chicken and mozzarella burger with red onions and sweet peppers. Technically I think the dairy and higher sodium is a no go, but these are in my fridge and I’m going to eat them! They have kale so let’s make an exception? It was a great lunch and I really loved the combination.
Afternoon: Spark! I had a second Spark energy drink today before I hit the gym. It really helped me get through it with lots of energy.
Snacks: Before we made dinner I had a few peanuts. In the shell peanuts are fun – it’s a snack and activity at the same time! Plus they don’t have any added salt or seasonings which is great. I also had a half banana with peanut butter.
Dinner: For dinner I had salmon burgers cooked on the George Forman grill with grilled asparagus and mini peppers. Oh, and the OmegaPlex pills you take with dinner.
Overall there was a lack of carbs from today! That’s probably one of the lowest carb days of food I’ve had in a while. I won’t say I totally miss carbs or that I’m even trying to eat super low carb. It kinda just happened today. I fully plan on having some complex carbs with most meals in upcoming days.
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 2 Fitness
Oh look at me, I went to the gym today. Gym selfie in the bathroom.
Today I tried something I’ve never done before at the gym: the stairmaster!! The new gym I joined has a ton of cardio equipment including things I haven’t tried before like stairmasters and arc trainers. I’m planning to switch it up and today I did 10 minutes of stairs.
That stuff is hard work! I only went 23 floors up and I was sweating and my legs were telling me to stop. I switched to the elliptical afterwards and was amazed at how easy it was in comparison. I flew through that! I finished up with core work including planks and crunches.
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 2 Thoughts
Today was surprisingly great! Despite waking up tired I felt energetic and focused all day. My mood was good all day too. It’s nice to be excited about life!
Yesterday I had really strong sweets cravings, to the point where I wrestled with myself about just having something and pretending it didn’t happen. Luckily today those cravings weren’t really present and I easily turned down a sweet frappe drink. Giving up sugar is the hardest thing for me since I’ve always been a big fan of sweets. I think it will be easier the farther I get into the challenge without eating them.
All in all, off to a great start with this challenge!
