Day 5 of the AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge is complete as of now. These reports might get boring but they are really motivating for me. It’s nice to know I have to reconcile my food choice at the end of the day so I don’t veer off course.
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 5 Food
Wakeup: Spark! Pills. Water. Getting started with my day means getting hydrated.
Breakfast: For breakfast I had half a banana and some unsalted cashews. I bought this container of unsalted cashews at the beginning of the challenge and it’s been so useful! I love cashews and it’s nice to have something like this handy when I want a snack or a quick breakfast.
Lunch: Since I loved the hummus and carrots so much yesterday I decided to repeat it for lunch today.
Afternoon: Spark! I didn’t get enough sleep so I felt pretty tired and needed this pickmeup. It took longer than expected to drink.
Snacks: After leaving work I grabbed an apple to eat.
Dinner: When I was eating dinner I realized it was the first meat I’d had all day! Turns out I didn’t really miss it that terribly. For dinner I had turkey tacos on whole wheat tortillas with guacamole. I wish I had added a lettuce or slaw element to these tacos so I think I might do that tomorrow for lunch with leftovers.

Steps, steps, and more steps! This is what today was all about. Standing up, walking around, walk breaks, and any chance I could to move around and get more steps.
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 5 Thoughts
Today’s food intake was great and I didn’t even crave sweets today. That’s one of my hardest challenges so it’s nice to not have that desire for them… it might make the rest of this challenge easier!
I’m also impressed because I thought the opposite would happen today due to lack of sleep. Getting enough sleep is a big part of being healthy and doing this challenge but it’s the one area where I’ve failed so far. Last night I had insomnia which led to only two hours of sleep (if that). It’s unfortunate and something I hate when it strikes. Laying in bed frustrated that you can’t sleep is the worst feeling. Even worse is when you start feeling tired and think you’ll fall asleep and…. just don’t. I’m hoping it was a one night only occurrence and I’ll be catching up on lots of sleep this weekend.
Other than the lack of sleep things are going really well. I’m getting full during meals a lot faster which helps me eat less. Thanks water and fiber for that fancy trick!
