It’s been a full week of the AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge*. I love my results so far – pounds lost, feeling better, having more energy, and clothes are fitting better. My skin has started to clear up which I’m soo thankful for. I hate that I still get breakouts at my age so I’m happy to see they have disappeared and my skin is looking clear for the first time in weeks. If that’s just a week then I’m too excited to see how I feel and look in a few more.
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 7 Food
Wakeup: Spark*! Probiotic pills. It’s getting easier to wake up now that I’ve been getting more sleep!
Breakfast: I made scrambled eggs with horseradish sauce. My mom always used to make eggs this way when I was growing up so it’s one of my favorite ways to have scrambled eggs. Well, if I could add some bacon in there it would have been perfecto, but I’ll save that for a special treat one day when this is done. I had a mistake with adding pepper – it came out heavily since I opened the wrong side and I almost ruined the eggs in total. I did throw a bit away that couldn’t be saved but ate the rest with too much pepper.
Lunch: For lunch I ended up grabbing a side salad from Chick-Fil-A with grilled nuggets. I’ve never had their grilled nuggets before
Snacks: After lunch I had a bit of a berry smoothie. Berries, banana, protein, kale & spinach mix. It was really delicious.
Dinner: Dinner was a bit of a disaster in terms of the cleanse. I went to a bachelorette party for a wedding I’m in and there wasn’t much in terms of healthy food options are the party before we went out. I did opt for a turkey sandwich on wheat with onions and lettuce and mustard (decent) as well as a handful of chips (not good) with salsa and cheese dip (way not good). In hindsight I should have stopped by a grocery store and brought some food.
I also opted to just have a couple sips of alcoholic drinks. In total I ended up having about one drink’s worth of liquor and a couple sips of champagne for toasts. It’s the first bachelorette party I’ve been too where I didn’t partake in the drinking and made all my own drinks/choices. Our limo had mini bottles of water so I knocked several of those back while everyone else had adult beverages. It felt weird to not be at the same level as everyone else but at the end I was proud of myself for sticking to a one drink limit and still having fun with everyone. It also saved me a ton of money not buying drinks at all the bars and clubs!
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 7 Fitness
Since I knew I was going out at night I wanted to make sure I hit the gym earlier in the day. I belong to the same gym as one of my brothers so I ended up going at the same time as he did. He was running on the treadmill for the end of his workout so I started mine by doing the same. It’s been a while since I ran, so after a warm up I did 1 minute run at 5.0 mph and then 1 minute walk at 3.0 mph alternating until I hit a mile. It was a good warmup and I was sweating!
After the cardio warmup I did strength training for chest, back, and abs. Workout complete!
I almost think I could consider the bachelorette party as a workout too – so much walking and standing and dancing! Definitely burned a ton of calories while having a ton of fun!
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 7 Thoughts
Overall it wasn’t my best day on the challenge but it was the best with the conditions I had. I felt proud of myself that I stayed about 80% compliant and didn’t go off the rails and get crazy drunk and drive thru McDonald’s at 2 am for a cheeseburger. While I don’t want to make excuses for not following the cleanse exactly… that’s life! I didn’t know the bachelorette party was going to be this weekend so I rolled with it and tried to make it work with what I’m doing.
I’m writing this on Day 8, obviously, and off to a much better start today. It’s the last push on the cleanse with several days of the fiber drink and then it transitions into the max phase. That’s something I haven’t done yet, so I’m really excited to get to it and see what results I can achieve!
