After the cleanse phase of the AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge* my experience took a bit of a left turn.
I caught a bug that’s going around and ended up feeling terrible for day 11 and just so-so for day 12. Day 11 I stayed home on the couch all day since I ran a fever and felt like I had been hit by a bus. I really thought it might have been the flu but after 12 hours of sleep I woke up on Day 12 feeling better and continued on with the challenge and life in general.
Since I caught some sort of bug and life almost took me out of the challenge my focus on these two days has been to eat what I can and rest as much as possible. It’s not exactly what you’re meant to do on the challenge but I tried to make it work.
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 11 Food
Wakeup: Mandarin orange Spark*!
Breakfast: 1/2 of the Chocolate Meal Replacement Shake*.
Lunch: Chicken sandwich on wheat with lettuce, tomato. Ate half.
Snacks: Peanut butter. JuJu looked at me longingly while I ate it since peanut butter is her number one ultimate favorite food.
Dinner: Half salad of chicken, onions, lettuce, peppers. Sweet onion dressing (trying some new flavors to find more fat free, sugar free dressings I like to use).
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 12 Food
Wakeup: Mandarin orange Spark*!
Breakfast: 2/3 Chocolate Meal Replacement Shake*.
Lunch: Rest of the dinner from yesterday.
Snacks: Ate 3 peanut butter crackers. It’s not on plan and my first sort of slip up so far. However, I’m human and am bound to not do this thing perfectly so I’m moving on. I needed the energy while trying to feel better and I’m glad I ate them. Slip ups might happen but you just have to keep going.
Dinner: 3 eggs scrambled with pepper, 1/2 bag steamed peas, 1/2 banana. Dinner was totally random but I really wanted eggs since I missed them at breakfast. I had the peas and banana in my fridge and they needed to be eaten so they were!
I finally feel better after having a full meal with fruits, veggies, and protein after dinner tonight on the 12th day. I definitely wasn’t eating enough before that and it made me feel a lot more tired than I should have. But since I had a sore throat and lots of food didn’t sound appealing, I listened to what my body was telling me.
Ok, I didn’t entirely listen to my body because it said “feed me comforting Cheez-Its” at one point. I ignored that one and tried to stick to trying to eat more on plan than off.
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Days 11 & 12 Fitness
No exercise. Since I was feeling under the weather and incredibly tired from trying to recover, I decided it was best to take time off from working out.
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Days 11 & 12 Thoughts
I wish after ending the herbal cleanse* I had gotten off to a better start with the rest of the challenge. I went to sleep on day 10 with a sudden sore throat and woke up the next day to spend it feeling miserable. I’m glad I was able to keep food down at all and am happy that it seems like it was a temporary illness. While I’m still not feeling 100%, I hope by tomorrow to be feeling great!
There are a lot of pills to take during this part of the challenge but I didn’t write them all out for these days. I’ll do that next time so you get the full picture.
In the meantime, someone tell my body I don’t have to catch every bug and flu and cold that goes around. I swear I’ve caught everything this year and have been sick three different times with three different things! It’s ridiculous! Hopefully my immune system can ward off these things in the future.
