I’m waaaay behind on my blogging about this AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge*! I did pretty well with daily recaps until I got sick and then had a lot of other stuff going on as well. Weekends are always so busy until Sunday afternoon… and that’s only if it’s raining because otherwise I’m at the dog park with JuJu. I’ll try to catch up with daily recaps since I took photos of most meals.
As a note: I had to take one day off during the challenge because the cold I had turned into tonsilitis. I basically couldn’t swallow anything for a day and it hurt to talk or even turn my head. It was terrible so I went to an emergency clinic for a diagnosis and medicine. The doctors actually recommended taking my tonsils out but I’m going to wait a while on that idea. That happened in the morning so that day wasn’t technically on challenge since I wasn’t about to swallow a bunch of pills. It wasn’t really off plan either since I didn’t dive into milkshakes or anything like that. It was a weird inbetween day that I don’t think will affect my results but did happen. Luckily the pain went away with the medicine and I continued on the next day. Thankful for doctors and my AdvoCare coach and medicine that helped me not feel such a terrible pain!
So, now I’m moving on and recapping the challenge as it continues!
Day 13 of the AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge* was great because it was really nice to get back on to the challenge! I didn’t feel 100% yet but I didn’t want to slip into the wrong track when this has been going so well! I happily con
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 13 Food
Wakeup: Mandarin orange Spark*. It’s not my favorite flavor but I ordered several new flavors to try out soon…. yay!
Breakfast: Have my chocolate meal replacement shake* for breakfast in my blender bottle*. I’m so glad I had a blender bottle for these! If you plan on drinking the shakes for breakfast as planned, grab one of these babies to save a ton of time and frustration. I bought mine on Amazon but you can pick them up at most sporting good stores as well. Less than $10 and totally worth it!
Lunch: For lunch I cooked a small chicken breast and added it to a salad. I tried out some dressing that hangs in my fridge and rarely gets used. Trying out new dressings and different ones with each meal is keeping me eating salads for lunch!
Snacks: Wasn’t super hungry this day so I didn’t have any snacks. Unless you count throat lozenges as snacks? In that case, all the snacks! These aren’t necessarily great because of the sugars (fake and real depending on the type) in them, but since my throat is scratchy and sore and needy, it was necessary.
Dinner: Dinner wasn’t pictured because I ate with other people and it’s sometimes just sort of awkward to photograph a meal that isn’t super pretty or special, ya know? Dinner was heavy on the veggies with roasted artichokes (so good), spinach, red onion, sundried tomatoes, basil and garlic (really good thing to use for flavor!). Very Mediterranean type feeling. Protein was chicken so there wasn’t a lot of variety in the protein options today, but I love eating chicken so I was happy with it.
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 13 Fitness
No exercise as I’m recovering from being sick. I really miss the gym though! I’m hoping to get back and workout hard on Monday.
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 13 Thoughts
My introduction to the second part of the AdvoCare challenge didn’t go as planned! I really wanted to do this challenge as perfectly as I could, but life intervened with the random bug I caught and the aftermath. I’m happy that it didn’t completely derail me and that I was able to take a day off and get back on track quickly. Completing this is important to me and I want to continue and finish strong.
My goal for the next two weeks is to take care of myself as best as I can. I want to finish strong and end at both my lowest weight EVER and feeling the best I possibly can.
I’m liking the shakes for breakfast since they are easy, convenient, and quick. All good things for me since I’m not a huge morning person! I think that will be a huge benefit in the mornings as I can drink them quickly during commuting and it doesn’t involve a lot of extra time or thought.
