Day 15 of the AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge*! Today combined the food and fitness aspects necessary to do well with both this challenge and living a healthy life in general. Feeling good about my efforts!
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 15 Food
Wakeup: Spark*! Another mango strawberry one this morning. I also have watermelon and cherry flavors to try out soon. Really looking forward to it!
Breakfast: Chocolate meal replacement shake*. Nothing terribly exciting to report here.
Lunch: I stopped by Whole Foods for lunch and grabbed a salad from the salad bar. It was so awesome to be able to grab lots of ingredients. I got spinach, romaine, kale, red onion, cabbage, radish, carrot, red pepper, artichoke, and dice turkey. I covered it all in lemon juice (love that they have this sitting there) and some pepper.
While I didn’t love the protein options, the salad overall was really amazing! It was nice to throw together something I don’t eat that often at home. It ended up costing $8, and I ate half. Not bad for a super fresh lunch with lots of healthy ingredients!
Snacks: Apple with a spoon of peanut butter after lunch and a handful of cashews after dinner.
Dinner: Dinner was so fantastic! For dinner I started out with a spinach salad with tomatoes, carrots, hardboiled eggs, and a balsalmic vinaigrette.
The main event was chicken grilled on the grill outside in the nicest weather! I’m so happy spring is here and I can sit and eat outside more often. I love being outside so this is a huge benefit of the season. For a side I had asparagus with black pepper and lots of lemon. Asparagus with lemon is one of my favorite ways to eat it.
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 15 Fitness
First time back in the gym in a while! I did 25 minutes of elliptical and 5 minutes of incline treadmill walking to make it to 30 minutes. I hopped off the elliptical because my feet were falling asleep.
I also did a lot of lower body weight machines including this leg press. I haven’t used the machines much at this gym because I’m usually in the free weights area, but the machines were pretty nice! All well maintained and easy to use. That’s a big step up from my lat gym.
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 15 Thoughts
I’m falling asleep as I write this post but I wanted to create it while it’s fresh on my mind. It seems that the challenge is getting easier to do as the days go on. I joke about going out to eat BBQ but the only thing I’m really missing is sushi. There have been several times I’ve wanted to go find some brown rice sushi, but not having soy sauce wouldn’t be the same. I digress.
Getting back into the gym was a great idea – I felt AMAZING afterward thanks to the endorphins. Or maybe it was the weather? I’m super glad I decided to do this challenge before spring sprang and now I’m heading into the new season and summer feeling my best. My birthday is also coming up next month so it’s really awesome to be able to get in shape and feel better before that rolls around once again! The years keep ticking by so it’s worth it to make changes before even more go by and I’m looking back wondering, why did I not do anything?
