Once you get into the swing of things, the challenge starts to fly by. It doesn’t feel as torturous as it did on the first day to say no to things. Completing Day 17 of the AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge means I’ve only got one week left! It’s flying by!
I did step on the scale this day to check my progress out of curiosity. I’ve officially hit the 10 pounds lost mark! That’s so exciting for me and I can’t even believe this has been that successful so far. In the back of my mind I really thought I was going to basically waste $100+ with this challenge because I wouldn’t be able to stick to it. But the challenge has proven if I put my mind to it, I can do it!
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 17 Food
Wakeup: Spark*! Mango Strawberry flavor today. I think it’s my new favorite flavor! If you haven’t tried it yet, definitely check it out.
Breakfast: Chocolate meal replacement shake*. I’ve started making these in my small mason jars to take on the go. Surprisingly it works just as well to blend this way as it does with the shaker.
Lunch: For lunch I had the remainder of my salad from a few days ago.
It was the tiniest bit soggy but still good and packed with veggies.
Dinner: When I got home it was already 8 o’clock but I knew I needed to prepare something healthy and tasty. I grabbed my cutting board and some veggies that needed to be cooked.
Isn’t that cutting board and knife set adorable? I got it at Bed, Bath, & Beyond with Christmas gift cards this year and it’s quickly become one of my favorite kitchen items. I love how colorful and fun it is! Making cooking fun definitely helps when you are cooking a lot during the challenge.
I ended up cooking those mini peppers and red onion with some jalapeno slices and threw it all on top of a turkey burger. For a side I steamed some edamame because I’ve been craving it and sushi.
Edamame isn’t quite the same without a ton of salt, but it was still a good side dish for a quick meal. I loved the turkey burger. The toppings gave it so much flavor I didn’t even need condiments. While I was eating I kept thinking about how maybe I never really need condiments if I have the right veggies! Something I’ll definitely keep in mind in the future.
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 17 Fitness
Exercise I didn’t make it to the gym…. but I actually worked out at home! I’m not a fan of working out at home (small house, no room, not as motivated, etc.). But today I made it happen!
For my workout I did walking and jogging in place and also alternated with shadow boxing and kickboxing moves. It helped that my younger brother/roommate wasn’t home so I could move furniture and do this in the living room. The extra space helped!
I also brought out my handweights that aren’t used enough and did bicep curls, tricep extensions, and shoulder presses. I really want to work on my arms more because I have a good amount of muscle there already and losing weight is starting to let it show. Getting on a more consistent strength training program might be a good idea for this.
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 17 Thoughts
Day 17 flew by. Each day is pretty similar to be honest: work, workout, spend time with people, eat healthy food, blog about it. I’ve always said, being boring is good for weight loss.
In other news, I started working on my spring cleaning checklist and even spruced up the blog. It’s totally a time of renewal and new beginnings for me, so I want that to extend to everything! I hope that everyone is enjoying this new season and looking forward to all it will bring!
