Day 18 of the AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge was interesting. I spent several minutes in Kroger wandering around wondering what to eat. Because I didn’t have food cooked or a plan for food it would have been easy to fall off the wagon. But instead? I stuck to the challenge and ate well AND exercised. It was a major win!
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 18 Food
Wakeup: Spark*! I shake up my Spark with water in a small mason jar each morning. I had mandarin orange this morning. Along with the trusty AdvoCare pills of course!
Breakfast: Chocolate meal replacement shake*.
Lunch: For lunch I decided to make a BIG salad! I bought some romaine lettuce and once of those chopped salad kits. Those are super handy to get lots of additional elements into your salad. Since they package cheese/bacon/croutons separately you can just choose not to use them. Here’s what my salad looked like:
Yum! It’s got romaine, kale, cabbage, carrots, pine nuts, grilled chicken, and topped with a sweet onion & citrus vinaigrette dressing.
This salad tasted so great. I’m definitely recreating it again. I’ve found I’m digging salads for lunches a lot and don’t even miss those things like croutons or cheese or bacon or whatever topping. As long as the salad itself is full of flavor then I’m a happy girl!
Snacks: I tried out an AdvoBar nutrition bar. I ordered these to test them out and keep around for last minute snacks.
I was incredibly hungry so this hit the spot. Was it tasty? Meh. I’m not a huge fan of bars, but I wanted to try them. You can’t love everything from a company!
Dinner: I ended up eating dinner rather late because of life circumstances. By the time I got home to cook I was ready to eat anything! Instead I grabbed an apple to take the bite off my hunger and then cooked a turkey burger.
Topped with avocado and red onion, a turkey burger is a legit meal! It totally hit the spot and I resisted eating all the things from the pantry. I was very tempted by Cheez-Its until I remembered I’d have to photograph them and admit to eating them. Pass!
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 18 Fitness
Day 18 was all about that fitness!
Cardio: Started with an elliptical workout for 20 minutes. I’m a huge fan of the elliptical machines especially when I’m doing cardio first thing during a workout. It’s intense enough but doesn’t wear me out like running.
Strength: Strength training today was focused on core strength! I worked abs & lower back muscles with machines and planks. Then I also added in back exercises and chest exercises.
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 18 Thoughts
Another day in the books! Today could have been derailed on multiple occasions but I kept it together and made healthy food at home rather than getting off track. I don’t really want to know the consequences of eating something terrible right now when I’m running so hard toward a goal I’ve never reached before. Especially now that I know I’ve lost 10 pounds already. I’d love to finish out with a 15 pound loss in 24 days – that would be incredible. Geez, even just maintaining 10 pounds for the month would be amazing!
I’m starting to really feel the weight loss. My clothes today were looser and I oddly feel lighter. It seems like nothing is happening for days or even weeks and then all the sudden you feel and notice the changes. It’s pretty exciting!
The challenge is almost over so I can keep doing this for another 6 days. Easy!
