Day 20 of the AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge! Saturday was one of my best/favorite days on the challenge so far. I ate well and got a great cardio workout in. I’m firing on all cylinders now!
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 20 Food
Wakeup: Spark*! Had the Mango Strawberry flavor which is sooo good.
Breakfast: Chocolate meal replacement shake*.
Lunch: Salad lunches continued with a salad I made at home with romaine and a chopped salad kit I bought earlier in the week. I added grilled chicken (with Mrs. Dash seasoning) and cashews. This salad was so good!
Dinner: I ate dinner at a special dinner where I got to meet some more of my boyfriend’s awesome family. Since I wasn’t preparing food I tried to choose what would work best for me and the challenge. I ate 1 piece of chicken (baked I think) that had some spicy seasoning and bacon, a piece of corn on the cob (without butter or salt), and baked beans that had onions and bacon in them.
There were some delicious looking brownies for dessert and I really wanted one, but decided to pass.
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 20 Fitness
Woohoo, Saturday workout was a success!
I focused on cardio and broke it up into multiple machines to workout muscles in different ways and stop me from getting bored. Here’s what I did:
- Stationary bike: 20 minutes
- Elliptical: 10 minutes
- Treadmill: 10 minutes of walk/run intervals
At the end of all this I was sweating a lot! I thought about hopping on the stairmaster because I’ve started liking that for cardio, but I ran out of free time before needing to get ready for dinner. Still, 40 minutes of cardio was a great start!
As you can see, I also took a selfie. I guess I’m starting to really like the changes I’m seeing! I’ve got a ways to go but am happy with finally making progress once again in weight loss efforts.
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 20 Thoughts
There’s only a few days left of this challenge and I’m hoping to finish it strong. While I haven’t eaten perfectly while on the challenge (hello pizza), I have eaten so much better than I was before! Not going out to eat so much and especially not drinking has helped a lot with these efforts. When the challenge ends those are two things I’m going to have to reconsider as I continue toward my goal.
Saying no to a brownie doesn’t seem like a big deal but it was for me. Sugar is my biggest weakness and is so hard for me to say no to and give up. Even though I know how to give up eating sugar, it’s still a struggle mentally. I have a sweet tooth that won’t quit! Working on passing on desserts and keeping them for special occasions is something that has been easier during this challenge and something I’ll probably have to work on forever. Oh yeah, healthy living is forever.
I’m so happy with how I’m feeling after 20 days of this challenge and eating better and using AdvoCare products. I fully admit I thought when I bought the challenge it was going to be one of those things I reviewed and ended up being super sarcastic about because it didn’t work as well as I’d hoped. But apparently putting my money down on something has given me the desire to follow through and make it work for me. Or maybe AdvoCare is just that good. I honestly don’t know or care, I’m just happy to have some progress once again!
Still, progress scares me. I was talking about how I’m close to my lowest weight and size ever as an adult and how it’s kinda scary for me. Everyone seemed confused by that and was telling me how excited I should feel. Yes, I’m excited, but this is an unknown. I don’t know what it’s like to be smaller! I don’t know what it’s like to be a size that is in line with everyone else and not always feel like the biggest person in the room (even when I’m not). But just like I got used to having long hair after having short hair my whole life, I’m pretty sure I can get used to this. It might feel strange and not like myself for a while, but I can adjust. I’ll get used to it. I need to know and feel and see what it’s like instead of giving into fear and giving up.
That’s a lot of thoughts and random ramblings about weight loss and the challenge today. It’s all unknown after this point for me so here’s hoping that there are only good things to come from here!
