Y’all. The AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge is almost over! Day 23 was another successful one and I think the string of successful days in a row is what will end up getting the most results. Show up, do the work, and repeat. That’s all this is. Unfortunately it’s also easy to get distracted and off course which is why losing weight can be so hard!
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 23 Food
Wakeup: Spark*! Mango Strawberry spark is awesome. Seriously. Tastes good and wakes me up in the morning for about 1/2 to 1/3 of the calories I normally have in coffee.
Breakfast: Chocolate meal replacement shake* in a mason jar! Spark is a lot easier to make in a mason jar and I had trouble again with the shake, but I didn’t have time to clean my blender bottle.
Lunch: My lunch was a bit random but packed with protein. I made a turkey burger seasoned with Mrs. Dash and topped it with an egg, which I ate with romaine lettuce. For a side I had a serving of steamed edamame. So many protein sources!
Dinner: Dinner ended up being a late one and I forgot to snap a photo. I had a salad with grilled chicken, carrots, tomatoes, and roasted red peppers. I’ve actually started eating tomatoes in my salad more now as I’ve previously always picked them out. I love cooked tomatoes but raw ones aren’t my thing. I’m trying though because I know they have great health benefits!
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 23 Fitness
I squeezed in a workout after work before going to watch my boyfriend play soccer (and play with a bunch of kids at the field!).
At the gym I hit the elliptical and stationary bike twenty minutes of cardio. Then I went to the leg machines to do some lower body strength training. Worked out those hamstrings, quadriceps, glutes, and other leg muscles!
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 23 Thoughts
I’m both excited that the challenge is almost over and a bit nervous. I definitely don’t want to go back to those old habits that led to weight gain, but I also am excited to a bit more lenient in my diet. I won’t have to turn down invitations to eat out at Mexican restaurants and my favorite BBQ place! But I do plan to continue on with drinking less, not drinking my calories, and choosing better meals at restaurants I do visit. That means I’ll be getting my BBQ with a side salad, light on the dressing.
I’m also excited to continue on because I’m sooooooo close to achieving goals I’ve had but not hit in forever. Like forever. Since I started blogging. I’m close to my lowest weight as an adult and I definitely can get there after the challenge if I continue on with these same eating and exercise habits. So that’s something I will definitely do.
After 23 days of a challenge like this the habits definitely feel easier. It’s easier to make good food choices and easier to fit in exercise when you’ve got the energy to do so. I’ll admit that it’s really hard in the beginning, especially if you struggle with compulsive eating and emotional eating like I do. However, once you get to a certain point without the fried and sugary foods, it does get easier. The cravings fade and without those cravings it is a alot easier. If you plan on doing the challenge, it will be tough in the the beginning but remember that it gets easier!! Stick it out because it will be worth it.
