I did it. I actually did it. I completed the AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge!
I’ll be honest, when I started I didn’t know if I was going to make it to day 24. It seemed like a really long time and I don’t have the best track record of sticking to food related challenges and diets. During those first few days where I really wanted to quit I didn’t think I’d make it past day 4.
But I did. I’ll admit I’m pretty proud of myself. So let’s get to the recap of the final day!
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 23 Food
Wakeup: Spark*! This morning I had a watermelon Spark on the way to a client meeting. It definitely got my brain working for some creative brainstorming! I love Spark before a meeting just as much as I love it before a workout.
Breakfast: Chocolate meal replacement shake*. After my meeting I shook up my breakfast shake in the car and tried not to spill it on my dress. Lots of drinking in the car on this day! Sometimes it happens!
Lunch: For lunch I ate with my mom after her physical therapy appointment. I was happy to take her to get her leg work in and even happier to eat lunch with her! I had a grilled chicken sandwich with a side salad. I may or may not have eaten my sandwich in the car, as was the pattern with this day of driving all over town constantly!
Dinner: Dinner time meant an actual meal cooked with some awesome friends on their grill. We bought salmon and veggies and had a cookout while enjoying the fantastic weather.
This meal was so delicious! I love asparagus with salmon and everything with lemon pepper seasoning is superb.
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 23 Fitness
Honestly, most of my day was spent sitting down, a lot of which was in a car. I didn’t end up making it to the gym or carving out time do anything besides the normal walk around the hood with JuJu. I don’t even count those walks as fitness activities unless they are extra long or involve running, so really I didn’t manage much this day. I’m happy with my workouts on *most* days, but wish I had been able to carve time for long workouts into every day. This will need some time management work!
AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 23 Thoughts
I’m not quite sure how to feel now that the challenge is over. On one hand, I’m excited! I don’t have to be as strict and can drink coffee and eat BBQ and have fun! But on the other hand? I’m nervous. Those “fun” habits are what lead me into gaining weight and not exactly healthy habits. I totally want to just stick with what I’ve been doing on the challenge because it works!
Now begins the process of discovering Day 25+. Finding out how to keep eating healthy and being active but still adding in more fun foods and activities. Some kind of hybrid lifestyle must be possible where I still can achieve my best health and still enjoy my lifestyle with friends and family.
The first test will come this weekend during Easter. There will of course be Easter candy (pass!) and Easter dinner (partake!). Then will come my birthday celebrations and other April birthday celebrations. Then summer BBQS! The list is endless, isn’t it?
I’ll be back soon to post about my results of the challenge!
