Y’all I’m moving!
Look at that mess! There is stuff everywhere! Boxes being filled, waiting to be filled, and little JuJu waiting to play.
Moving on up…. to a bedroom on the second floor!
My lease is up so I’m moving again to a new part of town. I am excited for more space, a nicer apartment, and awesome roommates for me and JuJu. I’m both incredibly excited about the new living situation and really bummed about the actual moving part!
Moving is such a hassle and so much work. I am not planning on going to the gym any time this weekend because I know I’ll get plenty of exercise in with the moving experience. I always end up super tired at the end of a moving weekend. You have to pack, clean, move, clean, unpack, organize. It’s really a multi-day or multi-week process but I’m planning to do the bulk of it this weekend.
Awesome things about the new space:
- stairs so there is built in exercise
- bigger kitchen so I can prepare more meals at home
- stove/oven which is something I haven’t had for a year
- safer area than where I currently live
- close proximity to family and friends
- cheaper to help save up for what is coming next (read below)
Clearly I’m excited. It’s going to be really nice and a much better situation for us.
The last temporary move… before buying a house!
I’m planning for this to be my last move before buying a house. It’s my last temporary move!
Next year I plan to move into a house I own. With a permanent address. And no plans to move for a decade or two. Having a home without moving again will be such a luxury!
I’m so tired of moving every 6 months to a year. If you’ve read my blog for a while you’ve probably noticed I’ve moved a lot of times over the years (and that isn’t even counting the moves I didn’t mention!). Since college I’ve lived in so many different places I’ve lost track of my past addresses. I’m really looking forward to settling somewhere permanent next year.
I’ll probably be sharing a lot more about the process of saving and finding and buying a home because it’s such a huge deal to me and something I’ve wanted for a long time. It’s already taking over my daydreams so it will most likely take over my blog as well!
