Ever since I’ve gotten access to discount stores like Costco and Sam’s Club I’ve been shopping less often and buying more things in bulk. It has been great for my savings account and I’ve even found some amazing new products like the kale and mozzarella chicken burgers I love.
I decided when I got my discount store memberships that I would use them to buy both my favorites and try new things. I like to shake things up so I try to buy one new thing each time I go.
Sometimes this works out. Sometimes it doesn’t. Either way, I still love trying out new foods and products I find. Since I’m always trying new stuff I plan to start reviewing more of it.

From the company: “This is not your run-of-the-mill nutrition bar. It’s minimally processed and has some of the tastiest fruits and nuts so it’s Paleo friendly. Whether you’re on the Caveman Diet or not this is what we’re meant to graze on.”
These bars are marketed as lots of super awesome and trendy things:

They have no peanuts but contain a variety of other nuts for a well balanced bar.
Dark Chocolate Almond Coconut Bars Review
I bought these snacks when I was toying with the idea of switching to a Paleo style of eating (still considering). After I read a few reviews online post purchase, I discovered that the sweeteners used in them are not considered Paleo by most of the reviewers. In general people bought the bars because they are marketed as Paleo style snack bars but the sweeteners were not actually Paleo.
That didn’t bother me since I bought these just as a generally healthy snack option.
These bars looked like they were going to be quite tasty. Nuts and coconut and chocolate? Sign me up!
The dark chocolate almond coconut bars were sweet but without being overly sweet. Sometimes I’ll try out snack bars and stop eating them because they are just too sweet. Luckily this wasn’t a problem here and the sweetness ratio ended up being perfect.
However, that’s where the positives ended for me.
While note overly sweet, the coconut flavor was overwhelming to me. As a previous hater of coconut who has been converted,
These snack bars were extremely hard to bite into for some reason. They were not chewy like I expected so I had trouble getting through an entire bar. Each bite was just so much work that I preferred to stop eating them rather than continue trying to force each bite.
I’m honestly not sure if I simply got a bad box of these or if that is how all of the bars are. Either way, I won’t be purchasing them again.
Have you had these before? I hate doing mostly negative reviews but sometimes you just don’t like things. Feel free to make your own opinion and try them yourself from Amazon or Costco.
