Happy Sunday my friends!!! This weekend has been ham packed (meant to right jam but typed ham and thought it was funny even though I don’t eat ham). From Friday night until tonight I’ve been busy with fun activities and hanging out with the people I enjoy!
Hall & Oates Concert
On Friday night we attended our final show for this year’s Live at the Garden series at Memphis Botanic Garden.
Hall & Oates was the most chill of all the concerts but it was a whole lot of fun. We all got to sing along with the songs we knew and I enjoyed a shorter show without multiple openers.
Overall this concert series has been incredibly fun! I loved attending the ZZ Top and Rob Thomas concerts and I hope to attend again next year! I can’t believe I missed out all these years by not attending these concerts. I keep finding more and more activities in Memphis that are so incredibly fun.
Cooper Young Festival
Saturday was spent walk-shopping, one of my favorite activities. It’s basically window shopping with lots of walking involved. I walked two miles with JuJu through our neighborhood for garage sales and then I went to one of my favorite Memphis festivals:Cooper-Young Festival.
This outdoor celebration is held in Memphis’ largest historic district each September. The streets shut down and are filled with over 130,000 people during the day. There are artisan booths, food, music, and more. It’s a fun celebration of all things Memphis.
I’ve been going since 2008 so I grabbed my friends Jessica and Ryan for our second annual outing together. This year I actually ended up buying something: a fun Memphis themed print that will hang in the office for my Memphis based wedding business.
I’ve grown to love Memphis so much in the last few years and the Cooper Young Festival this weekend was a lovely reminder of why. It’s also a great activity for Fitbit steps – I hit 10,000 steps for the day about halfway through.
I’ve also watched a ton of football this weekend! It’s officially football season.
On Saturday I watched college football and now tonight I’m watching professional football. I grew up watching a lot of football so it’s always been something that is on during the weekends usually in the background while I’m working. That was what happened today – I “watched” two full games while working… Fun times!
This year has been a lot more fun so far because I’m playing in a fantasy football league. I won last week which was a great way to start the season.
Things have changed since then…
My best running back just got hurt and was taken out of the game so I think the fun is over for me now. It’s been a rough week for my fantasy team. Unless Andrew Luck has the best game ever in history, I’m losing the game this week.
Now I’m off to relax with a nice epsom salt bath and get ready for the work week ahead. It’s going to be a busy one!
