It’s been a while since I did a Friday Five post, right? Last one was in December! I seem to go through phases with blogging. You know.

It’s technically Friday here in the land of hobbits, so I figured it was a good day to do it.

Five Awesome Things That Happened This Week

1. I did some pushups. Like a boss! Fitness goal accomplished! :)
2. I made Pioneer Woman’s restaurant style salsa and it’s changed my life living in a country without great salsa.
3. We got our wedding photos in the mail! They are all awesome.
4. We didn’t eat out which was part of our goal for the week.
5. JuJu wore a t-shirt. Okay I just put her in the t-shirt she normally sleeps on. I’ve never put clothes on a dog or dressed one up but this cracked me up: 
   
   

Five Dinners We’ve Had Recently

1. Baked fish with roasted brussel sprouts
2. Turkey meatloaf (veggies included) with sweet potato mash
3. Honey soy ginger chicken thighs with broccoli
4. Nachos with beef, veggies, guacamole, and salsa
5. Stuffed chicken with cottage cheese & salsa, broccoli and cauliflower

Five Things I Want To Do Soon

1. Learn how to sew! I still know nothing despite actually owning a sewing machine. ;)
2. Figure out my face skin care routine that works so I can stick with something for a while without irritating my skin.
3. Take JuJu to obedience training! She is actually really good and already knows the commands sit, come, and is starting to get stay. But I think training with other people and dogs will be great so I’m really looking forward to it for both of us. Can’t wait til she gets her last shots!

Five Interesting Reads

1. A 17 year old girl ended up in the hospital after only eating chicken nuggets since age 2. WOW. She only eats chicken nuggets and says she has never tasted a fresh fruit or vegetable…. which led to anemia and breathing problems. I can’t even imagine this being a reality…. it makes me want to never, ever give my kids chicken nuggets.
2. From Science Daily, the article Pictures of food create feelings of hunger. Yep, scientists have shown that just looking at yummy food stimulates your appetite. This is why I don’t read food blogs much anymore and why I keep my own food postings off the main part of the blog so I’m not constantly making anyone hungry. :)
3. A cool story about a teenager – A 13 year old is the new powerflifting world-record holder. Abbey Watson is badass. And she likes bacon (and wears bacon socks)!
4. Soreness is NOT an Indicator of Growth from Sable (my favorite new blog read because she lifts heavy and is awesome!). I know a lot of people think DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) after a workout means they are growing muscle and getting stronger, but Sable lays it out and explains that it just happens because you are working a new body part.
5. Convert an Orang into a Candle with a Little Kitchen Oil from LifeHacker. Just because that is a pretty cool thing to be able to do.

Since I work in SEO I look at a lot of analytics for websites as well as my own. Oh, the things people type into Google. The things.  It’s sort of interesting to see how people’s minds work when they are searching for things online.
