Hot Chocolate Is The Bomb

by Mary

I enjoyed EVERYTHING I ate today, but the hot chocolate was probably my absolute favorite. But we will get to that in a bit. First? Boring breakfast time.

Cereal... Again

Yep, cereal again. Total cereal. Yet, this time, no sugar. Go me.

For lunch I had half a pita with mayo, turkey, feta cheese, and spinach. Plus half an apple cut up.

Turkey Pita and Apple

My pre workout snack (sort of) was the other half of the pita with roasted red pepper hummus.

Pita and Hummus

For dinner I made something similar to what we ate in New Zealand. I suppose I miss my love so much I try to cook like him? actually I just wanted to try and make the potato wedges. I messed up and didn’t read his recipe right the first time and did some steps out of order but in the end I made everything work and they were crispy and delicious. I also made wilted spinach and salmon. The salmon was awesome and didn’t taste very fishy at all.

Wannabe Kepa Meal

After dinner I wanted to keep eating, but instead I went for some hot chocolate. (I just wanted something sweet!) My little brother let me use some of the hot chocolate I gave him as a gift at Christmas. It was SOOO good made with milk. Seriously. YUM.

Hot Chocolate!

The brand is North Pole Kitchens.  I tried to find a website or whatever but I couldn’t.  Maybe it was a store brand or something?  I don’t know.  I just know it was good.  I wish I could have more but one cup is my limit!

Wish I had stuck to my limits tonight. I definetly ate more than a fairshare of chocolate covered pretzels! Ah well, these things happen.
Great day of healthy eating & exercise though, go you!!!

How many calories a day are you eating? These meals look great, but they seem small, like you didn’t have enough calories.

I don’t know, I don’t count calories. I just eat whatever I feel like eating and eat until I feel like I’m no longer hungry.

That makes sense, and it seems to be working for you. The reason I asked is that I’ve been struggling and I think I may be eating too many calories, although I’m eating as many as WW says I’m supposed to. I’m going to do a bit of a modification for a month and see how that works.

Play around with it. Seriously. You might be eating too many… or you might be eating too few. That happens too. I figured out a while ago that I feel good and still lose weight if I eat around 2000 calories on average. Anything less makes my weight loss stall and me feel miserable. More and I gain weight. Try different combinations and see how you feel and if it works for the weight loss. Generally WW is a good guide for people but no one knows your body better than you.

I know hot chocolate is one of your fav things, so you should try this kind, it’s awesome http://www.nestleusa.com/pubourbrands/BrandDetails.aspx?lbid=DC4A204C-9ED2-4529-860C-C8FC879967D9 its abuelita mexican hot cocoa. It comes in discs of chocolate, which make about 2 cups each. Put 4 cups of milk into a saucepan, and add in one disc of chocolate. Put it on medium or medium high, and stir with a whisk. You have to stir constantly so it doesn’t burn. Once it thickens and starts boiling a little, it’s done. Pour into 2 cups. Then, take some real whipped cream, add some sugar (or splenda, like I do) and whip them together with your mixer. Just a little dollop on the top sweetens the chocolate. Its really good, pretty heavy, and if I’m feeling I want something sweet or chocolatey, and there’s no dessert around, or I don’t feel like making any, this makes me feel like I’ve eaten some.
