Chicken Fajitas

by Mary

This morning I tried nutri grain cereal again but without anything else. It was actually an accident that it happened that way. I really just wanted something super quick so I could leave the house asap.

My lunch was a turkey burger. I was planning on eating it normal way on bread but last minute decided to just eat the burger with ketchup on some leftover red cabbage.

The funniest thing is that I can’t eat ketchup on cabbage by itself, but if there is meat in there I don’t mind ketchup. It’s strange.

Afternoon snacks were a banana with melted drippy peanut butter and an apple I ate while walking home.

I made chicken fajitas for dinner!

Mmm, mmm, mmmmmmm. This was a big meal of deliciousness. Tortillas full of chicken, peppers, onions, spinach, black beans, salsa, and light sour cream.

I think if I’m going to eat chicken fajitas I much prefer to make my own. I know exactly what I put in there and how many calories it was. Perfect!

After dinner I ate two cereal bars with half a glass of milk.

And I’m ending the night with green tea. I’m not sure if the green tea before bed is the best idea or not. It’s probably better for me in the morning than at night.

This was probably pretty boring to read. Sorry guys. Love ya for reading.

Hey Mary

I have an addiction to ketchup but then I foound out it is laden with
glucose-fructose sugar :(

I tried organic Heinz which at least had cane sugar instead….but now I am trying a one month “detox” where sugar (except for fruit and some dried fruit)ks completely out as well as no dairy, eggs, gluten or red meat,or booze!
So far I am rocking my challenge and feel good-but ketchup is def something I miss-I just wish it didn’t have so much sugar and calories !!

Yeah, ketchup is basically sugar with some tomatoes and chemicals.

But I love it.

When I was eating less sugar I gave it up, but I really love it so I’m over that now. I generally eat it with protein like eggs or burgers so overall it is part of a balanced meal. It’s not just sugar consumed for sugar’s sake. It’s consumed to make me enjoy things like cabbage. ;) Plus I can make it fit into my calories.

In the US I was using reduced sugar versions, but here in New Zealand they aren’t available and I’m back to the original. I’d prefer a reduced sugar/organic version but for now I just use what I can find. Ketchup isn’t very popular here since they are big fans of “tomato sauce” which tastes different.

Glad you are doing well on your detox! Good luck!

I buy 3-4 containers (the Cerebos boxes sort) of tomato sauce each week … our family love their tomato sauce!
I started buying those Quaker bars since you reviewed them a while back – the family all like them, I love the nutty ones :)

Yeah, it seems like tomato sauce is a huge thing here! Kinda like me and my ketchup, so I understand. :)

I prefer the bars with nuts too, but we just grabbed the regular chewy ones because we saw them on sale at the end of the aisle. We are impulsive shoppers sometimes.

i dont think green tea has enough caffeine to matter if you drink it at night. Just black tea.
