I recently tried out Diet-to-Go’s service with a 5 day meal plan. The following are all the breakfast I had on the low-fat traditional plan at 1600 calories.

Breakfast Diet-to-Go Meal: Mango-Cranberry Muffin, Orange Marmalade, Yogurt Smoothie
Nutrition:
- 430 calories
- 15 g fat
- 74 g carbs
- 53 g sugars
- 9 g protein
- 310 mg sodium
Thoughts: This was my first meal on the plan and my first introduction to the overly sweet breakfast concept (I prefer savory in the morning over sweet). The muffin itself was really tasty after being heated up. The orange jam (it wasn’t really a marmalade) was delish as well. I drank the yogurt smoothie on the way to work. I’d had that particular product before so I knew I would enjoy it. Though it was very sweet I did find this breakfast satisfying taste-wise.

Breakfast Diet-to-Go Meal: Noodle Kugel (sweet casserole), Applesauce, Cranberry Juice
Nutrition:
- 420 calories
- 5 g fat
- 83 g carbs
- 65 g sugars
- 12 g protein
- 540 mg sodium
Thoughts:
I’ve never had sweet casserole before in this way so noodle kugel was a surprise to me. It tasted great in my opinion though I have nothing to compare it against. Again the breakfast was just too sweet. Every item was sugary and by the time I got to the applesauce I was just done eating sweet things.

Breakfast Diet-to-Go Meal: Blueberry Pancakes, Turkey Sausage, Syrup, Fajita Veggies
Nutrition:
- 360 calories
- 13 g fat
- 53 g carbs
- 15 g sugars
- 13 g protein
- 1050 mg sodium
Thoughts:
I really enjoyed this breakfast. I thought I would hate it because pancakes rolled around blueberry jam seemed like a weird idea to me when I cooked it. however, the pancakes were not sweet and the blueberry jam complemented them perfectly. There was syrup available to use for the pancakes but I didn’t feel it was necessary when there was already sugary jam involved. The turkey sausage was good as well. The only disappointment here was the fajita veggies. I would have loved 4 times as many because the serving was just pitiful. They did not taste seasoned either so it mostly was just watery bland bit of veggies.

Breakfast Diet-to-Go Meal: Fruit Ambrosia, Granola Bar
Nutrition:
- 390 Calories
- 10 g fat
- 73 g carbs
- 50 g sugars
- 10 g protein
- 160 mg sodium
Thoughts:
This breakfast was not my favorite. I left it frozen for too long so by the time I needed to eat it I had no way because it was still frozen. Since it’s supposed to be served cold I couldn’t really heat it up. I tried and ate a few bites but it was a no go. I ate the granola bar and a few bites of the super cold ambrosia and called it a morning.

Breakfast diet-to-Go Meal: Ratatouille Omelet
Nutrition:
- 270 calories
- 16 g fat
- 15 g carbs
- 3 g sugars
- 18 g protein
- 620 mg sodium
Thoughts:
In my opinion this was the best breakfast of the lot nutritionally. It had less sugar and more protein and veggies. Overall it was much closer to something I’d normally want to eat for breakfast.
Unfortunately I dropped half my food when making it so JuJu has the asparagus and a good chunk of the veggies on top of the omelet. I ate the omelet (it didn’t fall, yay!) and it tasted great. It was rather delicious and I enjoyed every bite. It kept me full for quite a while even though it was lower cal and I missed part of the meal.
Disclosure: I received the meals free of charge from Diet-to-Go in exchange for my review and sharing the meals. The opinions shared here are my own.

That is some serious sodium
Indeed. It’s definitely a major down side.
I can attest to the pancakes. I got a bite of those and they were really delicious.
I had a bite of the kugel and yeah… that was a no-go for me.
Haha. I wish I could just order you some pancakes!
From giving up sugar, i know some of those brands contain sugar in them and i’d be crashing midway through work if i ate them. looks like a good variety of different things though!
