Oh hey, guess what? I ate oatmeal again. That’s right, I ate oatmeal two days in a row! But this time I added a banana and even got in some fruit with my oatmeal.
I also added slightly more cocoa powder this time which made it slightly more delicious.
I made some tuna salad for lunch and ate a bit of leftover asparagus from last night. The tuna salad was made using tuna, greek yogurt, light mayo, carrots, and raisins.
After making the whole wheat zucchini muffins I ate two of them and a couple mini muffins as well, but I didn’t exactly count those.
Dinner was plain turkey burgers on wheat bread with a slice of edam cheese and mustard & ketchup. We microwaved sweet potatoes to make mashed sweet potatoes. I’m hopefully going to use the skins to make these loaded sweet potato skins.
Then after dinner we went to a family service for a friend that passed away earlier this week. Afterwards we went around to there house and I ate a bunch of little things, or about half a plate of food.
And then I came home and ate another muffin and drank a half glass of milk.
Ah. Yeah. I’m done with today. Actual funeral tomorrow. Been to too many funerals lately. I’m ready for some happy occasions.

I hope you do make the sweet potato skins! They are so tasty.

i’m sorry about your friend..
Hi Mary!
I really enjoy your food blog and am glad that you like to try new things now. Congratulations!
I also used to hate oatmeal but have learned a few tricks that I thought you could try. I always try to cook oatmeal with half milk/half water (though all milk is better sometimes…). After that I like to add spices (like cinnamon or nutmeg) and some fruit. For 1/2c of dried quick cooking oats I add 1/2 tbl sugar and a small pinch of salt. Right now my favorite ways to eat oatmeal are with a mashed or sliced banana cooked into it (with the spices & sugar) or half of an apple chopped small and added after the cooking is done. Dried cranberries can be good too!
Anyhow, happy adventures into oatmeal land!
Thanks for those suggestions!!
