Parsnip Fries and Turkey Burgers

by Mary

I didn’t eat much today.

I just wasn’t hungry.

Once a month, I’m not hungry.

I have to force myself to eat.

I have to force myself to do everything actually.

Because cramps destroy my day and make me feel sick enough to not want food.

Sorry, but it’s true.

And it sucks.

Because I like food.

I did eat a few things…

Like eggs and a bit of cheesecake (gave Kepa half of this even!).

eggs

And a few crackers with chicken, cheese, and mustard. But not all of this either.

crackers

And I made parsnip fries from the recipe I found on Angela’s blog. They were on the menu plan I wrote for the week so I made them even though I didn’t enjoy them as much as I could on another day. But I did enjoy them and will make them again.

parsnip fries

Seriously, nut butter crusted parsnip fries are the greatest thing ever. So good. I ate a few before we even put them on the plates. They don’t need sauce either because they rock on their own. You should make them.

I also made turkey burgers (Kepa cooked them for me, aww). They worked out pretty well considering it was a new recipe idea. Normally I just use ground turkey but this time I had eggs, crackers crumbled, spring onion, soy sauce, Worcester sauce, hot sauce, onion salt, and garlic powder. Pretty good.

I ended up switching out the bread for a smaller roll because the bread was toasted too much. And gave quite a few of my parsnip fries to Kepa who gladly ate them.

After dinner we went out for coffee and I got a hot chocolate, which was okay but nothing to write home about.

With that amount of food I should feel hungry, but I don’t, I just feel sick. Ugh. Oh well. I can’t wait for tomorrow! Oh happy day!

Do you like parsnips? This was my first parsnip encounter and it was a good one, obviously. :)

Thank you for confirming I’m not crazy. When I tell people I forget to eat some days because I’m not hungry people think I’m nuts.

BTW I love parsnips in fry form. Boiled they are disgusting.

Not a huge fan of parsnips but then maybe its cause I have never tried them like this…they look good! Definately want to try them :)

Hope you are feeling better. :)
