Pumpkin Hummus and Japanese Food

by Mary on February 4, 2010

Had camera trouble this morning so I wasn’t able to take pictures of my breakfast. It was two scrambled eggs, two pieces of toast, one with three berry jam, and one with peanut butter and honey.

Then lunch was something new, vegetarian and delicious.

Veggie Pita, Lunch, Feb 4

It was a pita cut in half, with pumpkin and kumara hummus spread on the inside. Then cut green and yellow peppers, tomatoes, lettuce. And on top I crumbled sundried tomato feta. I wasn’t sure how it would turn out but the flavors worked together and it was enough food for lunch, without meat.

After lunch I split an apple with Kepa and had a vitamin water when playing mini golf.

We ate at Midori, a Japanese restaurant in Mission Bay. We split the valentines combo, which was all delicious, except I didn’t have any sushi because I wasn’t hungry. It started out with a salad:

Followed then by miso soup:

Then (sushi I didn’t eat) and edamame, gyoza, and tempura. Yum. The things closest are squid rings and octopus balls, which I didn’t eat. A little too adventurous for me right now.

The last course was rice and an assortment of meats, including chicken, beef, and pork.

My dinner drink was an apple cocktail:

After dinner I had a scoop of “vanilla brownie” ice cream… but I think mine got switched with Kepa’s because it didn’t taste like that at all.

Then I had a biscuit and hot chocolate. Neither of which was that great so I only had a bit.

Looks like a lot of stuff, but I only ate about half of everything pictured from dinner on.

Ooh your dinner looks soo good. I might be having sushi tommorow…I have to choose sushi dinner or gym. I wish people could just have dinners later…its that whole no one works a full time job except me syndrome lol. Anyway squid is calamari which is DELICIOUS so try that next time. Octopus can be gross or good depending on how its prepared. I was adventerous once and ate some that looked like plain dead octopus on my plate so rubbery bleh disgusting. Ew. But yours looks good. And the sandwich at the top looks really yummy too. You eat such tasty food!

It was delicious.

I like calimari, but I just didn’t want it that time. I didn’t try the octopus because Kepa said it wasn’t good, so I didn’t want my first try to be gross.

I try to eat tasty food. It helps with the whole weight loss thing. ;)
