After I got home from the “office” I made myself a slice of bread with peanut butter and banana. It worked well as my pre workout snack.
My dinner was aaaaaamazing. It was a protein packed salad of greatness!
There was spinach, red quinoa, chicken breast, craisins, and honey mustard dressing. It’s basically the red quinoa and spinach salad I’ve been eating regularly but with extra chicken and craisins. And a different kind of dressing. I liked it even better this way and with the addition of chicken it was so filling I didn’t even finish it. I got pretty close though. ;)
I finished off the 3 pieces of my dark chocolate bar from last week as well as part of a muffin top I shared with Kepa while we were out. I also had a chocolate protein shake (milk + chocolate whey protein powder).
I love chocolate protein powder with milk. It’s like chocolate milk but with more protein. It makes me so happy. :) And it bumps up my protein levels which is something I’ve been trying to do lately so my diet is more balanced and less carb heavy. Today was okay and I’m continually working on it. Kepa is way better at protein consumption than I am apparently, but he drinks maybe three protein shakes a day and his are twice as big/strong as mine. He is turning into a little bodybuilder.
I think my next book I’m going to read will be something on either how to strength train as a triathlet and/or how to eat as a triathlete. I’m wondering if I tried to tailor everything specifically toward becoming a triathlete if it wouldn’t make me faster/better/more awesome. But then again maybe I should just stick with the general healthy stuff and keep trying to lower the sugar and up the protein. Balance is the goal I’m always chasing it seems. At least calorie counting is going well this week. :)
