Snacky Snacky Day

by Mary

Same breakfast as normal, just a different stage.

Breakfast, Feb 9

The jam was the last of anything with added sugar I’m eating for a while. Not sure how long but I’m avoiding the sugar to break the addiction and stop eating sugar.

Today was a little bit snacky. Partly out of boredom I think…

Cheese + Crackers, Snack, Feb 9

Lunch was a tuna sandwich with lettuce and tomato and some pretzels. Took a picture of the banana here but didn’t eat it.

Tuna Sandwich, Lunch, Feb 9

Ate half the banana with spoon of peanut butter and a glass of milk for a snack.

PB & Banana, Snack, Feb 9

Dinner was a scotch fillet with potato wedges and asparagus. I helped cook the asparagus! And it turned out well! Go me!

Asparagus! Dinner Feb 9

After dinner I ate the other half of the banana. Finally. Snacky, snacky!

Wow, those wedges look GREAT! Has Kepa ever posted what recipe he uses?

Those asparagus look much more interesting then when I prepare them.

He has posted the spices before… I’ll round that up and repost it.

I was super excited … I got to cook the asparagus! Blanch it for five minutes, then sautee in olive oil for a bit, then add salt and pepper to season, crush some garlic on it, and then toss it around, then add some lemon juice and your done!

When you get back to the States, if there’s a Trader Joe’s by you, consider getting their reduced sugar organic strawberry preserves. Huge chunks of strawberries, delicious and only 25 calories a serving. They have other flavors too (raspberry and 2 others).

Great eats today!

That sounds delicious! I wish the closest Trader Joe’s wasn’t three hours away. Oh well, I could make a trip to “visit friends” and get some good stuff. ;)

I can’t keep peanut butter in the house. Similar to how you’ve described yourself with sugar, for me, peanut butter craves more peanut butter. There is no “just one spoonful”. It’s always “just one MORE spoonful” for me.

AND I also eat one of two things for breakfast every day. Oatmeal or english muffin. You are not alone in liking what you like. :)

Ah, the one more spoonful thing. A lot of people I know are like that with peanut butter. I like it but not enough to eat it straight.

And the funny thing about breakfasts is that I will switch. I might get on an oatmeal kick and then eat that every day for a month. Hehe.

Im not an asparagus fan but the way you prepared them does sound good. Prob wont try it still though lol. But the steak looks good. Ive recently within the past yr, yr and a half, started liking steak a lot. I hardly ever have it though…it has to be cooked the right way at a good restaurant. Mmm.

You should try asparagus. I never tried it before a few months ago and I love it. And prepared the way we did it? AWESOME.

AIIYEEEE! I’ve woken up every morning this week wanting eggs. It’s been a delicious torture seeing all the pictures of yummy eggs you’ve been putting up. LOL

Will be interesting to see how your food differs once you’re back home and no longer on vacation. :)

Mary February 10, 2010 at 11:03 AM

Haha, sorry Kada. Eggs are delicious.

My food is definitely going to be different when I’m back home and don’t have Kepa cooking my meals. It will probably be more varied but not as delicious.
