White Food Is Good Food

by Mary

When I woke up this morning I wanted to try my new whole grain pancake mix, but unfortunately I didn’t have the eggs I needed.  So instead my mom made regular pancakes!  On top of my pancakes (I had two) I put peanut butter and maple syrup.  Don’t ask me how or why I started doing this, but it’s the best thing EVER.  I also drank a glass of milk with them.

Lunch was an interesting experience.  I had NO idea what I was making to eat.  I started by cooking chicken in the skillet.  Then I decided I wanted green pepper.  And then I added onion too.  And then I decided to just dump salsa in there.  That ended up being what I ate on flour tortillas with some light sour cream.  It was good.  I could eat salsa all the time.

Then my mom made dinner (how nice of her!).  It was steak cooked with soy sauce and peppers and spinach on white rice.  Pretty tasty.

I worked out after dinner so I ate a little snack afterwards of greek yogurt and nutty granola.

And that’s that.  Just realized I had white food at every meal (OMG!  Not the dread white flour and white rice!)  Guess the whole grains were in short supply today.  And I’m craving some fruit lately but can’t buy any more besides the grapes I got and those will have to suffice tomorrow.  But yeah, craving juicy and colorful fruit after today and all it’s whiteness.  :)

I know that white rice is supposed to be not so healthy but I like it better than brown rice most of the time. Its still pretty healthy, I think. And yummy. I get my whole grains in my bread, instead. :) Grapes are yummy.. Roomie has been on a red grape kick lately so he keeps buying them and I get to eat them yay.

It’s not unhealthy at all. It’s rice.

I am always on a green grape kick. I never get red grapes.

green are ok. red are sweeter so i prefer them. but either work for me. :)
well its a lil unhealthy. cuz it doesnt have the whole graininess that brown does. ok maybe its not unhealthy its just not as healthy as brown rice, hows that? :)
