Weight Loss Blogging Tips

by Mary

Ive been blogging about health and weight loss for far too many years now. I’ve lost some weight but not all of it and during the time I’ve become a steady blogger who some people even consider a “good” blogger. I get asked for tips a lot and here are my best one specific to weight loss blogging.

  • Be consistent in posting. You don’t have to post every day. You don’t have to post at a certain time. There are no real rules to posting but it does help both you and your readers if you maintain some level of consistent posting whether it’s once a day, once a week, or whatever you choose.
  • Post when you feel like it. This might seem like it’s contradicting the above point but it’s not. consistency is good but it’s not better than posting when you have something to say. If you don’t have anything to blog about, don’t force it. Just wait til inspiration strikes.
  • Use your blog for accountability. One of the best things about weight loss blogging is the ability to use your blog to stay accountable. If you have a goal you really want to achieve then post about it and use your blog to document progress.
  • Be yourself. By this I mean both be yourself in your writing and don’t be afraid of being public about your blog. A lot of weight loss bloggers start out anonymously because they are ashamed but I find the successful ones realize they have to be who they truly are and in the end it’s best for everyone. You will find a lot of support and love when you blog openly.
  • Reach out to the community. The weight loss blogging community (and others on specific sites) is amazing. There are tons of people online you have been where you are and can help you get to the next level. Reach out and start connecting with them via their blogs or social media.
  • Don’t get caught up in the blog. Blogging can inflate and deflate your ego but don’t let it. Don’t let the blog become more important than your journey to healthiness. It’s not worth it.
