Weight Loss Tools
These are a random assortment of helpful weight loss tools that I’ve used in my weight loss experience. I find most are about tracking and measuring and keeping you aware of what you are doing. When you are trying to lose weight you have to be aware of your actions and how they affect the bottom line.
This is the scale I use personally. I recommend it highly as it’s super accurate and great at helping me keep track of my weight and weight loss progress.
I also use this kitchen scale! It’s accurate, easy to use, easy to clean, and great for measuring food to make sure you stay on track with eating the right amount of calories.
I use these lunchboxes when I take my lunch from home for work. They are great for maintaining the right portion sizes and separating foods you want to keep apart. I love this particular set of bento box containers but any would be helpful!
I use a wearable tracker most days just to monitor my activity and make sure I move around enough to reach a healthy level. Using a Fitbit (or Loop or Jawbone or similar) helps you move more and burn more calories each day in doing so!
Using a heart rate monitor is a great way to get in shape and reach your fitness goals. If you are focused on weight loss then the FT4 from Polar is a great model (and my favorite). I use my heart rate monitor when running or triathlon training.
Weight Loss & Fitness Clothing
What you wear when you workout can make a big difference in how you feel and how you perform. I am really picky about what I wear for workout clothes so I only purchase items at these places.
- Under Armour (love their clothes especially bras and winter clothing)
- Target.com (Champion brand for fitness is pretty great for price)
Weight Loss Books & E-books
These books on weight loss have helped me get binge eating and compulsive eating under control. They were recommended to me by a therapist when I went to counseling for disordered eating habits. Eating mindfully is a huge help when trying to overcome bad eating habits!
Emotional eating was a huge hurdle for me when trying to lose weight so reading books on how to stop eating emotionally was the best thing I did for myself. Understanding why I ate and how to better cope with situations without using food led to many good things.
Eating mindfully and truly paying attention to food is the best thing you can learn to do when trying to lose weight. If you are eating mindfully it’s a lot harder to binge or eat junk food. Eliminating those foods will lead to weight loss.
