I can’t believe Penny is already 2 months. While each day feels so long they seem to fly by cumulatively. I blinked and my maternity leave ended and she is going for her 2 month shots tomorrow.
I’ll be posting another monthly baby update but I also wanted to record and share all these cute little moments of smiles and baby babbling.
She’s such a happy baby.
Every morning I look forward to her waking me up because I know I’ll be greeted with a big smile once she locks her eyes onto me. The smiles of recognition melt my heart. You feel so important and loved when a baby smiles at you like that… it’s the absolute best!
Every smile is a reward for dealing with the poopy diapers, cries about gas, and lack of “me time” lately.
She’s mostly like this all day – awake, alert, happy and babbling. She found her voice in the last few weeks and has lot of little “conversations” with us. I try to mimic her sounds and throw in random comments to encourage her to keep going. She will babble on for so long already. I have a feeling she is going to be a chatty baby!
I hope the fact that she smiled early and has been smiling for weeks now means she will always be smiling and have a happy disposition. I know it’s really too early to tell but that is encouraging to me! I try to smile at her as much as possible so she mimics it and have also started laughing purposefully to try to get her to do that as well. I heard the beginnings of a laugh today and now I’m positive I can’t wait til she starts laughing and giggling.
Happy baby is an awesome baby.
She also grew out of her newborn clothes some time in the last two weeks. I knew it was coming since the newborn clothes were getting tight but I didn’t expect it to be so sad! It was a reminder to me to record things and make sure I have memories to look back on like this video.
She will be grown up before I know it. Hopefully still smiling and babbling with me, but I want to cherish and remember these little baby babbles. She is just so precious at this early stage.
Hope these happy babbles brought you a little bit of happiness as well!
