Brrr, it’s cold outside.
It’s not the coldest it’s been but it’s cold enough to make me question my desire to go for a walk. It’s enough to make me think I should reconsider a workout and just snuggle in instead. Silly thoughts!
Winter can be a tough time to exercise. The colder weather and shorter days make many of us just want to hibernate for long periods. Exercise gets tougher when you know you have to wear special clothes and bundle up just to be active outside.
ESPN created some awesome motivation images to shut this idea down fast with their motivational series, The Cold List.
Escape the crowds.
You sweat, they sleep.
you vs. the elements. You win.
Uphill. Both ways. On purpose.
the sweet sound of silence…and your heart rate.
yeah, so it’s cold. go anyway.
Okay these totally made me want to get somewhere colder ASAP so I can play in the snow and go snowboarding. I wish we had snow here in Memphis during the winter because there are several snow sports that I love to partake in during the winter season. Alas, we just have colder temperatures and grey skies.
These motivational images are definitely made to inspire you to be active. They make me want to go for a walk or run or workout as soon as I possible can. They all boil down to the fact that motivation is fleeting… but you have to do it anyway. To be great at something or achieve your goals you have to keep working and keep going even when you don’t want to. Even when it’s cold. Even when there are obstacles.
