In the last few weeks since the temperatures have been dropping I’ve been craving soup more often. When I woke up this morning the temperature outside was in the 40s and I knew soup would need to make it into my meal plan this week. I’ve already had and made chili twice this fall and indulged in a couple cups of soup from local restaurants! Soup season is a wonderful time!
I don’t fix soup for myself often but it’s a really handy meal during the fall and winter seasons when you want something quick and warm. I also love ordering it at restaurants where I can get a gourmet soup without all the work of preparing it myself (and having to eat it for days).
After talking with my brother the other day while visiting my niece, I discovered he takes soup for lunch almost every day – it’s his preferred mid-day meal!
Since I’m declaring it soup season, I wanted to talk about reasons why eating soup is a great idea.
