2017 In Review

In 2017, blogging was not a huge focus in life. In fact, I shared less than 15 posts last year! That’s a far cry from the days when I blogged daily. I think I’ll probably blog more in 2018 because I’m so excited about everything that’s going to happen. I never planned to be a mommy blogger but I sort of understand now… you are so happy and excited you just want to share with people!

But for now… I’m looking back at 2017!

2017 was a great year of adventures… We started with a trip to Arkansas to kayak the Buffalo River, which was my favorite kayaking experience so far.

Seriously, I had so much fun on that trip even tho I had my first fall into the water (still don’t think it was my fault but I admit I didn’t know how to recover once someone ran into me and I took on water). Gorgeous river and super fun experience with friends.

We also went to ALASKA! We took a cruise in Alaska where we managed to see so many awe-inspiring landscapes.

We had the best trip ever! We hiked, we floated, we played, we tried to find bears, we kayaked with sea lions!

You can check out all the posts from that trip even though the pictures and videos can’t do it justice.

I’m ready to go back again already. If only I had an unlimited travel budget each year it would be so much easier.

It wasn’t all adventures and fun this year. I also worked on a lot of goals at home and financially. You know, adulting. One of my big goals was to work on our house and make it our own but on a budget.

We’ve achieved a lot and most of the rooms are fully furnished and comfortable. More house tour videos will come in the future since we’ve added so much.

This year I also made a goal to pay off my car …. and I did it!!

It’s crazy to me but I started 2017 with a debt balance of over $6,300! I dedicated myself to paying off the rest of my car and I’m so glad I did because the last few months of the year with no car payment were awesome.

We added a new family member this year: Hank the Valley Bulldog!

He was seriously so, so cute as a puppy. He is  little less so now but still has a VERY SWEET personality that we just adore.

He’s been a fun addition, even if I’m never planning to have a puppy again. They are so much work when so many adult dogs need homes. But we cherished this experience with lil Hank.

We also learned we will be adding a new addition in 2018 too…

The last half of 2018 has been somewhat consumed by the pregnancy since it hit me pretty hard symptoms wise. Luckily I’ve been blessed to be pregnant at the same time as several good friends so it’s felt a bit less lonely and terrible.

Of course, there were many celebrations throughout the year with some amazing people. I’ve been blessed in many ways from family to friends to coworkers this year.

Next year I’ll get to meet our little one and while some days I don’t feel ready, I’m so terribly excited for what 2018 is going to bring!!
